Character designs are so ugly

Why? Just compare it to Tekken, Street Fighter or even Overwatch.
All the characters are so ugly and lame, the ghost girl is the only one that is kinda ok.

I actually really like the character designs in general. Some definitely feel out of place (McGinnis, Yamato, Bebop, etc., which I know will be replaced eventually) but then you have fun touches like demon cop Abrams, Wraith with her mechanical arms, and Infernus using his hand as a gun.

This, so much this. I love the occult/steampunk/a-touch-of-retro-anime style they have going on here. I can understand if some people aren't interested in that, but it's much more unique than any of the games that the op listed.

lol two of the out-of-place characters you listed are actually some of my favorites. McGinnis, meanwhile, I feel could be more memorable if they leaned into a Rosy the Riveter vibe more.

u literally named only characters that have more or less unique and interesting design (imho abrams is hellboy clone just blue)

the rest characters are copies of other characters from other games, or their design is just is poor and dull and that was literally the first thing came to my mind when i checked them all out.
Feeling the developers are out of fantasy and any creative idead and all hero pull is just a copy of a copy or AI generated sh*t that still legit "a copy of a copy"
and you won't change my mind 80% of them is concord level desing (presence of sweetbaby inc.)

unfortunately yes almost the entire roster in this game seems to be werdly designed in a bad way, and seems to be a mix of dota 2 and team fortress 2, the only good looking male character i found is Pocket (how come they did not make the others similar to that), other than Vindicta who is the best female

i remember dota 2 also had a handful of pretty male characters, mainly Invoker (who is based on Kael'thas) and Anti-Mage, but here in deadlock the females were also largely plagued by bad designs, valve should have dropped that dota 2 / team fortress 2 aestehtics thing for deadlock because it just feels overly weird and does not compare at all with the compettor hero shooters like overwatch, apex legends and valorant
