Game crashes on start up

i played for a couple of minutes, mostly doing the tutorial and looking at the characters
Close the game, come back and now the game refuses to boot up, i get to the screen that shows the valve logo and then closes down
is there any way to fix it? i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying game files and even trying to reset my own pc for it, none have worked

Same here, just got the invite and downloaded the game to see only Valve logo

Mee too have same problem after the game crashed fans gone mad and pc rebooted.
Checked integrity of files and reistalled game twice won't help.

Luckily new patches come real fast on this game.

I fixed my issue by switching back to directx from Vulcan. Kept crashing before I could get to the settings menu so I had to restart my PC and reinstall before I could get there

When you reinstalled did it automatically go back to directx? Mine is stuck at vulcan and every single time i try to change it, it crashes and doesn't save.

Same problem here...
I found that of you restart your pc the game works just fine, however if you you have it on for a while the game refuses to boot. I think this is a steam problem, I have a simmilar issue with other games that just tell me that steam is not running (even if it clearly is) and they refuse to boot until I restart my pc.

Mine was doing the same after changing to Vulcan too.

Here's how to revert without re-install:

Go to: %your_steam_folder%\steamapps\common\Deadlock\game\citadel\cfg

Edit the boot.vcfg file with a text editor.

Delete this line:

"DefaultRenderSystemOption"		"-vulkan"

Restart steam.

no boot.vcfg for me :/

any updates on this i cant play deadlock because it is crashing already all i can see is valve logo then not responding help fix
