Deadlock

Deadlock

Error 126
I've been trying to get the game running for the last few days, but no luck. After a failed attempt to launch, a window pop-up tells me that "a game file appears to be missing or corrupted. In the Steam client go to the game's properties. In the 'Local Files' tab select 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache' to have steam double-check the game's installation." Then another reads "CAppSystemDict: Unable to load module tier0 (Dependency of VApplication001), error 126".

I've tried verifying the game file's integrity multiple times before and after every attempt to fix things. I've read up that people that play CS2 get a similar issue that needs an updated version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, so I've downloaded and updated each version I could find, rebooted my PC and tried launching the game again to no success.

Any ideas?

Have the same problem, but the game runs normally when I manually run it from steamapps/common/Deadlock/game/bin/win64/project8.exe

It might just be how mini dumps are, but I notice the error dump is referring to a different path for the game files then what steam uses. In my case this is because I have symlinked my steam folder so it's in another location. Unsure if this is the issue or if its something error dumps does.

If you haven't done symlinking then the issue may lie somewhere else.
bro accept me friend plz
