FPS stutters ruining my game
Happen whenever they feel like it, switched off and on every setting in the menu. My computer should have no problem playing this at 144hz maxed.

I'll get stutters then a complete lock up about 2-3 times a match. No reasoning, no similarities on why.

Yes you should probably be able to play this game maxed out, its a source 2 game that runs fine on my steam deck. its in closed alpha though, its very unoptimized ATM so performance varies alot from machine to machine. please consider submitting feedback to the devs on the issue you are having.

Also, who's "they"?

I have a 4070 and 13th gen I, it should run like Minecraft.

I was referring to they as the fps stuttering. It runs smooth 95% of the time then stutters and locks and continues running fine again.

Sorry to hear that brother. I also have a 4070, but I have a 5800x3d. my game runs smoooth, but i have to use gsync+vsync, with Reflex on. I have +/-10ms input-to-render time even with vsync so it plays great. 1440p native, all on low/off except for textures(high) and get 165+FPS, I cant tell exactly how many FPS are possible in a real in-game situation because vsync limits fps to my monitor's refresh rate, but when I tested it on the training map i had 240+fps. Try it if you havent.

I capped it now at 110 with Gsync, i've tried every setting possible even tried running in vulkan. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind why it stutters hard and doesn't happen situationally. i have a 144hz monitor so i just capped it below that.

Its weird, runs buttery with no dips until massive frame stutter/drops for about 10 seconds then fine again.

Sounds like a CPU or memory issue. Have youchecked CPU usage? maybe try the launch options [eloboss.net] thing, like
+mat_queue_mode 2
-high
+cl_forcepreload 1
I think this game eats the CPU. Also try freesync if gsync doest help.

I have a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13620H 2.40 GHz, it should be good enough for this game and more.

The server cpu usage sometimes spiked to about 70% but other than that lately it sits around 48%.

I'll try with those launch options

Did you find a fix, same thing happens to me It will run smooth until it freezes for 1-3 seconds and returns to normal. Running a Ryzen 9 5900x with a 3070. I was just playing and towards the end of the game it started lagging super bad, it ran from 3-4 fps to max of 20 fps for the rest of the game and didn't return to normal until I closed the game, first time it has happened that bad. Tried changing to Vulkan and it still happens.

Nothing yet my friend, ive been trying every setting possible every way and nothing changes. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times even cleared the nvidia driver cache.

If i find something out i'll let you know, i even made the mistake of not copying my user information for the forum in game so i can't post there.

I'm glad its not just me... New PC, AMD Ryzen 9 and 4070 Ti Super. And its hardly been playable at times. I have 150 fps and that never drops. The game just stutters almost the whole time, then freezes for 1-2 seconds at times too.

I don't know what to try anymore. Same as you played with all the settings to see if it was something there, but nope.

Im not real sure what i done right, but as of yesterday night it is no longer having these stuttering issues. I reinstalled the game again for a 3rd time and it seems as though that must have fixed it combined with deleting my nvidia driver cache.

running at a constant 110fps with no stutters now. Hopefully this helps.

Great to hear it!
To everyone else, perhaps try re-installing the GPU drivers, use DDU[www.guru3d.com] to do a completely fresh install, if clearing nvidia cache doesnt help. Also you can try deleting Steam's shader cache.

Is this a laptop? I looked and it is a mobile cpu, my guess is you are hitting thermals and throttling, then it cools down and goes back to normal, rinse and repeat.... 100%

My thermals have nothing to do with it, GPU and CPU hover around 60-70. It is a laptop, MSI with cooler booster.

i've played far prettier games with no thermal throttle.

Its literally fixed now as per my above statement, explain that if your 100%?

I am having this issue as of February 2025. Game runs smooth for majority of the time, but some times after a kill or two (can not pinpoint when exactly) fps drops to 40-50 for a few seconds and then back to smooth again.
