Deadlock Black Screen when launching in full screen

I was able to solve the issue by going into the text file and turning off full screen at launch. However, if I turn back on fullscreen to utilize my higher resolution and refresh rate the screen goes black. You can still hear audio but no image.

In order to get to the text document to turn on and off fullscreen I went to:
Deadlock/game/citadel/cfg/ select the video text document and change setting.fullscreen to 0 for off, 1 to on.
