It just feels slow and clunky to play as him compared to others.
Your welcome.
The freeze beam is something I cannot seem to use effectively, besides against a few specific fast moving enemies. I realize that this is a personal skill issue for me though, just not my vibe.
Build wise, jack up your Ammo count, rate of fire, and either headshot damage or normal damage pluses (or both). Get Active reload ASAP and use it correctly. Using this I can end up killing half of the enemy team and send the rest running because I essentially have a full auto MG that does huge amounts of damage per shot, has a lot of shots, and reloads quick.
It is important to remember that some Spirit abilities buff damage and ammo as well, and that crates / urns are very useful to get additional bonuses to desired categories.
It's one of those things where I would assume going 3 max would be the best damage output and boosting that but regardless of chosen spirit items it was only really that good at shredding minions and monster camps.
I've turned around slightly on him after some more tinkering but I really feel like his 3rd ability needs more oomph put into it because I've yet to find a use for it other than almost always securing a soul or soul steal. It ends up just being throwing grenades the whole time which isn't as interesting as a channeling beam (that I would have assumed at first) amplifies it damage the longer you fire it at an enemy but it could barely kill full glass tank damage dealers like Haze with one beam. In that same amount of time I could have thrown grenades or headshot her and done far more damage.
I think his kit is one of those things where it's usuable but feels a bit misguided and not as cohesive as I would have expected. Your build seems interesting but it's a basic attack build which I think would be a lot better or Infernus or Wraith.
Were it up to me I would definitely remove the grenade heal and replace it with something else and add more dps scaling to the laser because he feels odd as what he is atm, sort of being a support tank rather than something like a spirit based high damage dealer.
