Suggestion for a better gameplay experience

Personally, playing for the first few minutes without upgrades is more fun to me because it's fairly balanced. but as soon as someone gets more slots filled, suddenly of COURSE they will win fights. So now the patient farmig players are forced to spend money or back off.

I think a good addition to the game to make it a little more fun for the long haul would make the shops closed for some time at the beginning, like the first 3 minutes. At the same time the little aliens to farm and boxes appear. That way farming is open and shops open.

Not only would that allow players to play one on one without any extra help, but it would also give players time, especially the lower ranked on the team, to actually gain some souls and go for the kills.
