What happened to my games?
Okay, I'm not the best player, but I'm certainly not a 0/11 type of player, I've been around before the game became public and super big, and then I stopped for a month because of other game releases, I used to be at least top 5 in the match, sometimes even top 1, but I've come back to the game and its suddenly a very unfun and somewhat unbalanced experience.

Most of my matches have been 0/11, 0/10, 0/12, with the enemy team anywhere from 20k souls ahead all the way to 50k ahead, I've been losing most of my lanes, and I've been struggling to get any kills (Especially against Lash.)

Is it something I'm doing that's wrong? Is this a "git gud" scenario? I don't fully understand what the meta is at the moment, or the right strategies o make money, but I am consistently falling behind my team in terms of points (Mainly from losing my lane and dying consistently)

have you played the tutorial?

the game takes big swings with mmr. You might just be in a higher bracket than you're supposed to be atm, and just gotta wait it out unfortunately. Happened to me just a month ago too.
Lots of cheaters nowadays. Not the blatant ones, just ESP, soft aim and auto abilities.
Just look at cheat forums

The matchmaking seems to just be really bad lately.... have been having a lot of super-lopsided games that just aren't any fun at all. I feel like they have broadened the matchmaking pool in the upper tiers of MMR to speed up matchmaking, but it's forcing teams of decent players to go against teams stacked with a bunch of sweatlords. If you play with friends and have some skill diversity on your team, it seems especially bad. Whatever they've done to tweak matchmaking is definitely noticeable and I'm not enjoying it...

I believe you just have to loose more games for mm to calibrate

Normally, its something you're doing thats causing you to lose that much. Try getting last hits on minions, playing your life and farming more often depending on what hero you're playing. Also, its good to use other peoples build/know what certain items do that will help you counter the enemy heros, ie: Enemy team has pocket and infernus=get debuff reducer, and later debuff remover for infernus afterburn/toxic bullets and pocket ult

Don't forget to include your "assist" because it's meat a lot just as much as "kill"

Ah yeah, my assists have been far better compared to kills, nothing to scream about but im usually around the 6-8 mark for them.

Which heroes are you playing?

If you're losing lane that hard it has less to do with general meta or Hero pick and more to do with individual skill.
You've spent time away from a fairly young game (in terms of when people actually had their hands on the game), so now even average players kind of know how the game works while you've not quite figured it out yet.

It's telling of your mindset that K/D is your performance metric of choice. 'Objective damage' and 'Player damage' are arguably more valuable metrics for contribution to victory than 'Kills', and that's something you'd only get to understand through knowing the game better.
Basically, you just need to play more, and when you do, play more towards destroying the map objectives (guardians, walkers, shrines, and ultimately the Patron) than towards getting a high kill count. This isn't a Call of Duty Deathmatch, but you're forgiven for thinking it is, because it probably felt like that a month or so ago.

The matchmaking is a bit wonky here and there but you need to remember that people are getting better at the game and the "average" skill is going higher.

I feel you bro, a few things that *can* help - 1) Check out Deathy's Meta update vids on YT (most recent was like 2-3 days ago), of course all meta is subjective especially in this game but it really helps you figure out which heroes are strong right now in the right hands (e.g. actives, farm timing, hitting long shots) and which are strong with less skill (e.g. strong from early to late game with fewer actives and average soul farming), 2) A lot of people have watched vids/looked up info. on Soul Farming via lanes/jungles/urn/denies and thus even the mid af players like myself are playing a lot more efficiently at this point, and 3) If your deaths are that high, it is likely that you are over-engaging at the wrong times. I've had a lot of trouble with this recently but a buddy helped me a lot by coaching me and now I'm playing 1-2 bot matches in between nearly EVERY player game which has helped me figure out my timing and engage spacing a lot better. Some characters are great at 1v1 like Warden/Shiv but even those characters require specific abilities to get their power spikes. I am mostly playing Hydration's Warden build but I was going for Binding Word (cage) as my main play until a few days ago and that is NOT the build's strength so once I started playing more passively and focusing on denies/jungle/troopers until I had Majestic Leap and Surge of Power on my ult I started dying a lot less and contributing to my team's success a lot more. Hope this helps my dude!
