After many weeks of playing, I have to say that Dead Lock has become unplayable for me and my friends. A few days ago we noticed how the players and the game itself are starting to go in a very toxic direction. Before it was fun and you had varied rounds that you sometimes lost and sometimes won. Since the players discovered that you can steal souls after getting the bots, there is no stopping them and the game has been unplayable for days. The stats are just unbalanced and some people never manage to keep stealing souls at the same level as their opponent and you can see that in every round. It's ruining the game.

Every round feels sweaty and toxic. This has nothing to do with good gameplay anymore, but that's how it was at the beginning. I think it's a shame and it would be better to focus on being able to get souls in other ways, but not by stealing them. It's going in the same direction as every other toxic and sweaty game and it's not even out yet. If there are real gamers behind the game, you should understand what is meant by that. If it stays that way then RIP

This game is certainly sweaty, but denying souls isnt toxic?? Denying farm, as its often called, is something thats been around in Dota2 for ages, like 2 decades. Its a skill, if someone is denying your souls and you arent securing them, they are either outpositioning or outshooting you. Its just another form of skill expression in the game. If you melee kill the troopers, they dont release a soul orb, and give you the full money from killing them right away, so thats an option if you find yourself getting denied often.

Also, if you kill the neutral monsters in between lanes, often called the jungle, they dont drop souls orbs either. But the money they give is is unsecured. So you have to either spend it or wait for it to slowly secure itself, or you will drop one of the balls full of money on the ground when you die. I would argue that Deadlock has very little to do in it besides good gameplay, theres very little luck involved outside who your teammates are and what the team matchups are (even then, I dont think that the Hero balance is good enough that, outside the highest tier players, you should be able to win with any Hero Composition).

Im sorry you feel its ruining the game. I genuinely enjoy it, as do many of my friends. I hope you give it another shot and find the fun in it again

Yeah it's fun mechanism. Very innovative, making lane farming less predictable, its quite nice. Also If that so much of a big deal for Ya, melee attacks finisher don't leave any soul for enemy to steal.

Next you will want to remove all active items, remove all movementbased tech and have all CC skills deleted.

Just go back to play lol and smash the 15 minute french monkey button.

You can deny them back or kill the bots with melee to get the bonus without a soul orb spawning.

Fortunatly last couple of days CS2 has been quite enjoyable.

personally i don't like soul denial because it encourages under tower play, however with how weak towers are currently it kind of balances itself, but once players realise the ♥♥♥♥ you can get away with under tower the game will get much much more frustrating.

Yeah I've noticed it too but I also fully expected this game to become a toxic place of sweat lord elitists eventually. Was just a matter of time and that's fine I just will stop playing eventually when something better comes out that I want to play or just cycle through my library.

What I find particularly comical aside from the laughable balancing in heroes is the lack of a surrender vote option. If you got a team that's down 20k or more souls then there should be a surrender option. I don't see why one side has to play for 20 or more minutes for the inevitable outcome of losing when we could just vote to surrender, leave and get back in a new queue.

The winning team can still stick around and play against ai bots if they want - won't ruin their game they'll still get the win anyways.
