secondly, her damage scales with spirit. most likely she will do ♥♥♥♥ all for gun damage but have huge burst damage via skills. you can just get spirit armor and spirit shields. GG.
thirdly, IF they are cheating, they could have more spirit power than possible, doing huge damage. which ive seen many times with cheaters (especially cheaters doing 100% spirit/gun armor taking 0 damage when they should at least take SOME damage with normal amounts of spirit/gun sheilds/armor)
but generally it's normal losing against geist in lanning, but at late she is useless ish
She's oppressive early because that is when the life-cost(which justifies the low cooldowns) is lowest and most efficient as long as she hits. Spirit quickly causes that gap to narrow, making Lifesteal, Fortitude or Spirit Armor necessary. About half my damage when I go down is what I've done to myself. It makes me feel that Life Drain should pause it's duration when it's blocked by LoS, seeing as Geist also loses 50% move-speed when using it, the player still has to decide to cancel or be a sitting duck.
Her better Spirit items are ones that create efficiency rather than directly boosting Spirit damage. She has to choose carefully on Health items because she has terrible base move-speed, and being able to get in and out of engagements can matter more than shields and actives.
I have tried it and only ever had one Money Shot case where ulting Abrams from 20% health killed him, his team-mates(with Malice stacks) and all the enemy creeps within range of the reverb. It's an expensive thing to do though for a gimmick that will only fool a decent player once.
(Edit: Regarding Reverb, I keep seeing people imbue it on Essence Bomb. They seem to do this based on test conditions where they have removed all cooldowns, meaning they don't understand how a lot of abilities work, or the devs are allowing imbues on abilities that don't make sense.
For example, I thought Mystic Reverb would be good on Drain Life, and it works in the testing, with cooldowns turned off. Why would they allow it to be imbued on that ability if it doesn't work? In normal conditions, it triggers on a tick, then the cooldown prevents it from going again for the whole duration.
With Essence Bomb, reverb could be applied to a mob that dies anyway and then doesn't follow up with the AoE. If a player walks through the trail of a fully upgraded Essence Bomb, the tick triggers it, delivers a pathetic 40% of the tick damage(rather than the total ability damage) and the cooldown prevents any further application.
Mystic Reverb is only viable on Malice.)
Given her base move-speed, it's always the opponent's fault if she gets too close. Only greed and stupidity ever causes anyone to chase Geist through a veil, onto a roof, into a tunnel or building.
Hey legit I never considered that item at all but it makes a lot of sense against heroes like gheist, shiv, warden, and other spammy spells.
Thanks for the tip.
