Learn when to shoot and when to melee minions, using melee can put you at risk because of the animation duration but secures the souls instantly. Shooting a target means you can get a minion thats out of range but sometimes requires you to shoot the soul as well.
Learn when you can get away with not hitting souls, for example when a minion you last hit is in cover from the other player(s) and they cant steal them. This saves not just ammo but time, meaning you are more likely to be ready and alert to last hit another low health minion in time.
Later on in the game, you will only get souls from securing the soul orb, killing minions wont give anything anymore. So make sure to keep that in mind.
When it comes to ''jungle'' farming, take not of the positions and spawntimes of monsters on your lane. Moving to other lanes just to get a few monster kills for souls is often a waste of time, unless you can chain a lot of farms together quickly with little downtime.
Take not what your team is taking and what they are leaving, and when you gank, respawn or after you heal at base... take a short detour and chain a few monster farms together while going back to your lane.
Small monster farms give very little souls, but can still be worthwhile when you are early game. Mid sized farms (medium monsters) give the most souls by far compared to their hitpoints, so this is always a priority if you can kill them quick enough.
Some heroes kill farms a lot faster than others due to AoE abilities, learn what characters its worth to farm with and what ones are less good at it. Those that are not good at farming monsters are better in a lane and when ganking other lanes than farming all the time.
Dont worry too much about the exact spawn times of monster farms, your own lane always has priority and will give more souls. And farms where monsters dont get killed slowly increase in value, that means if you kill a monster farm right when it spawns it gives slightly less souls than when you wait for a few minutes. Monsters are there to add to your soul pool or help you get back from losing lane in most situations.
Lastly, a lot of people dont know how important towers are. Getting a guardian or walker kill is always more important than a monster farm, and the souls granted are global for your entire team. Just be aware that part of the souls for those can be stolen by the enemy as well, so make sure to shoot them if you have someone contesting your soul secures.
Try not to sell items, you only get half your souls back when you sell something. Always plan ahead and think what Tier 1 and 2 items to buy that lead up to higher tiered items.
Even selling a single T1 item wil set you back 250 souls, thats similar to a wave of minions.
I hope this helps a bit, good luck!
like the other guy mentioned: last hit minions with melee. all of the good high level players will sit very close to minions to melee them because it's way easier than aim dueling to secure floating souls. you just have to learn how to do that strategy without getting murdered by the enemy, if you have a losing lane matchup it would be much safer to just stand back and shoot instead of push up
and just stick to laning more than worrying about the jungle unless you are confident you will not miss a single minion (at least not more than one) during the time you're away jungling. that time gives the enemy the opportunity to kill all your minions without any pressure and make sure they dont miss a single one. they can shove all the minions into your tower and have them killed by that if you pick a really bad time to go jungling
if you're ahead and your lanes are too pushed up into the enemy territory to be safe, you can try taking their jungle camps on their side of the map. again, this denies them the resource and gives it to you instead, which creates a much larger gap than simply taking your own jungle
in every ranked game, the enemy rushes guardian tower all the time, like 6 vs 2 people in other lane, im trying to farm solo but they just clear out their own jungles in harmony, i have no harmony with my team, my team are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ illiterate (game always puts me in chinese servers)...
Meanwhile my team loses fights but im very good fast souls farmer!1!!1
