comms ban abuse is killing the game
Recently got my 3 day comms ban removed. I'll admit that the last time I got banned I probably deserved it for saying something toxic, but this time I know for a fact I was banned without cause. I got unbanned, and played exactly two ranked matches. I didn't speak in all chat at all either time, only using voice chat to communicate with my teammates. Halfway through the first game, my own teammate told the enemies to mass report me. Immediately after my second game, I'm comms banned for a week.

It's simply ridiculous that anybody can get anybody else banned from comp just by grouping up and reporting that person. Three reports is all it takes to auto ban you. It's not just me, either, I've seen dozens of people complaining about this exact problem. If valve can't prevent their own players from preventing others from playing their game for a week, then something is seriously wrong here.

Well, at least you admitted you deserved the first ban. Now I don't know what you said, but if get your team says to report for comms again, you earned it most likely. It takes a lot, and Yoshi of the Valve, says it is a super high threshold. You now have to choose your words and tone wisely.

cheaters are running amok, yet valve finds it fit to focus on policing speech? no wonder this games bleeding players.
Devs too busy arguing about Ivy's pronouns in Discord to fix the mass report issue or balance the game.

Are you just thread hopping because you lost one too many games in a row and want to blame anybody but yourself? Nobody in here even mentioned game balance.

Yoshi is lying to you and you're eating it up. Any person who is reported for comms abuse by 3 different people will be instantly and automatically banned, no questions asked and no chance to appeal.

And I said literally nothing. I was doing extremely well as Haze and the entire enemy team was complaining in all chat about me all game. My own Lash suggested they report me and I guess they did. It's fine that you believe Valve is a perfect company without error, but don't act like your belief is the truth. Valve simply doesn't care about the players being unfairly banned and it will kill the game within months if nothing is done. Eventually, every single person will be permanently comms banned or will have quit the game due to the horrible reporting system.

this happens in every game like this. these bulls hit automated systems only punish solo or small group players. they are very easily abused. Valve WILL not do anything about it. They didn't in CS.

How did u go about contacting support to get the ban lifted?

same happened to me, didn't say anything to test to the theory, only put glhf and gg, and the enemy team reported our team because we beat them and half of us got comms banned.

I harass every Geist with lewdness and still haven't been comms banned.

I didn't, it's not possible. Their support systems don't work, and even if they did I'm sure they'd claim their report systems were infallible and that I deserved my ban. This was the straw that broke the camels back, for me and many others I'm sure this is what kills Deadlock for us.

Yes.
I also blame everybody around me but myself. You are not jumping to conclusions out of sudden, for sure.
Yes, I mentioned the words "game" and "balance" following each other, in the same sentence. Yes, nobody mentioned it in this thread, you have good eyes.
Does my words trigger you?

Contacting support? You can see how long your ban is when you hover over it ingame.
Is it a life-time ban? If yes, you probably deserved it. Make a new account and get an invite.

It's a week ban. Why should I go through the hassle of contacting support when I can just uninstall the game and never look back on this disaster of a beta test? I sincerely hope the game is in a more playable state on release, so that I can try it again when valve decided to make it an actual game and not a 'who can report the other team fastest' competition.

Contacting support for this would be stupid and a waste of time. If you don't like the game feel free to uninstall and never look back, as you said. Bye.

You're SEETHING mad at the game to the point where you're telling people to leave and uninstall instead of contacting support.

Just want to point out: they can simply make a new account and invite themselves by friending their new account and sending an invite.

YOU however are eternally buttblasted and will never be able to enjoy the game again because you lost so much and so often that you're going to great lengths to tell everyone how bad the game is.
