If my heal could be destroyed (no other placeable damaging or healing effect, like Dynamos heal, can be destroyed) then I would never be able to use it. If I didnt have turrets, well, why would I play her? Even if Im running McGunnis I still use turrets for farm and objectives
The heal is whatever, but the turrets should be limited. It should be max between 1-2 turrets placed down. It still took me about 4 seconds or so to kill 1 turret, and the fact that she had multiple turrets beaming me, by the time I destroyed them my hp got melted by 70%. It's insane. Not to mention that she can spray you down with her weapon during all that too while you focus on turrets. They have too low of a cooldown and she can put down too many at a time. It def needs a nerf
The only time they really pop off is when people do exactly what you did, which is fight into them. You went into a fight where she already had the turrets, which is exactly when she has the advantage. That should be the whole point of the turrets, is that you can lock down an area.
Catch her off guard though? She has terrible stamina, slow starting DPS with her gun, startup time for her heal, a min range for wall, and it takes like 6 seconds to get all her turrets up during which she cant be firing her gun at full speed. She is extremely catchable, and only really excels at defense or seiging with her Ult. Youre not supposed to easily jump into a turret nest, kill all the turrets, and then fight her, thats the point of turret build. But Turret builds cant do anything to you if you run, theyre worthless at chasing.
You just gotta know how to engage it, its not OP. Needs some balancing? Sure! Everyone does right now still I think. I dont think the current version of McGinnis is the perfect version of McGinnis. But I have enough games under my belt as her to know she has sooo many downsides
She already has enough bullets/damage to farm, fight and push early game without free sustain and additional damage from turrets.
The main benefit of the heal is to win the early game by sustaining in the lane.
Turrets are obnoxious to deal with early on and heroes that don't go for bullet damage are going to struggle with them for the entire game because of the weird decision to give them Spirit resistance that makes using abilities a waste.
The main problem is that the turrets are just more damage on a kit that is already very good at shredding everything with bullets.
Dynamo has to channel the heal until the final upgrade while McGinnis gets a kit with additional damage from separate units, free lane sustain, a wall to control the lane state and an ultimate that's good at both fighting and pushing.
You would still have a strong early heal and a wall to control the lane before getting an ultimate that makes pushing the first objective(s) very easy.
That's the thing, you NEED to have a weapon damage build in order to destroy the turrets faster. If you're playing a vitality or spirit based build, then you won't be able to kill them nearly as fast before they start melting your HP. And so you're just not supposed to pick a fight with McGinnis then when she's set up? That doesn't make any sense. By that logic, we should just avoid all team fights where McGinnis is at. It doesn't take her long at all to set up turrets. She is fairly tanky and you won't be able to kill her fast enough before she has all her turrets up, especially when she's inside her heal. Whenever I gank a McGinnis and she doesn't have turrets near her, she is able to spawn them up in no time and just start melting your HP. Especially if she uses her wall to buy herself sometime to get the turrets up. It's just a very broken kit in general.
The stats speak for themselves. The McGinnis that went 2-10 in my match but still came out with the most damage, with a whole 20k less souls than the Kelvin on my team, that just speaks volumes as to her damage potential.
