Horrid matchmaking
First 3 games im put into lane against people who have 20+ hours. There should be already an option to have some new player matchmaking mode, especially for a complex game like this. I can tell you many people are quitting because of it. The bots are a joke and dont even damage you also. neither are fun right now

That will probably be fixed on release. Unfortunately in this play test you'll have to deal with the lack of proper matchmaking

Well, playing against skilled players is a good way of getting better at any game. It might be tough and less fun at first but with time you will start doing fine if you are willing to learn.

Me and all of my friends are experiencing the same thing, just be cool. Understand that yeah the matchmaking isn't sorting players basically at all right now and get over it. Try to learn what you can each game you play and eventually you will improve. Focus on what you can do in each game and except that there are many things outside of your control.

Skilled? They are just more knowledgeable lmao skilled is way far off. They know more about how the game works and the items. Its not something you just learn, you have to put in many hours. And that is why i suggest they add a new player matchmaking mode. Get out of here

People forget that this is early development. Youre play testing a game. This isn't the final version and their focus is on gameplay, not matchmaking.

That's not how learning works.

You get better by playing people that are a little better than you. You don't get better by playing people that are 1000 times better than you.

But it is. You have to overcome the challenge in order to get better. You might feel differently because the game is very team oriented and it's impossible to turn things around solo, so if your team is bad, your experience is bad as well. But you still learn, even in defeat.

A middle school JV team doesn't learn by playing the LA Lakers.

You learn by playing against people who are somewhat better than you. You learn nothing from playing people that blow you out of the water without even trying.

It's a playtest, hope that helps.

First several games of any MP game you're new to is going to need a calibration period.

The bot PVE matches are where you should be learning before you commit to PVP.

You're kind of wrong though. As someone who's played fighting games for 15+ years, you actually learn more from playing against people WORSE or slightly better than you. You CAN learn from people significantly better, but the rate at which you learn is WAYYYYY slower. In order to learn, you have to identify a lesson. It's extremely hard to find those lessons when being overwhelmed by concepts you aren't even ready for.

The only way you can efficiently learn from someone that good, is if they were to sit down with you and explain to you why you lost. That typically doesn't happen with strangers.

we need skill based matchmaking like chess

I'm with you. Matchmaking is terrible.

A playtest should still have the concept of matching somewhat similar players together. DOTA does a decent job. You'd think we could get similar ideas here. Not at all though. I can't tell if the game is any good because I keep getting blown out. Bot games are okay for sort of learning the basics, but the way it is now, I'm not interested in min-maxing a build for every hero. I already don't play DOTA enough. I'm not adding a less-fun, less-intuitive version to my already limited time to play games.
