The balance is ♥♥♥♥, damage dealers farm out of control almost instantly, ending tankier than tanks in a matter of minutes.
And adding that deny mechanic is straight busted on any smg user.
Guns are bad, gunplay is terrible since it’s based off stats and items.
Battle born did this concept better years ago.
I loathe this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game
Couldn't express it better myself.
The shooting aspect of the game barely matters as soon as someone snowballs even a bit, people become unkillable balls of destruction with little to no outplay chance.
I know it's new, honeymoon and all that, but looking at the gameplay without those rose glasses, it's weak, like really weak.
The jungle is weird, feels like an afterthought, the urn mechanic is.. ok? seems to not be worth it unless you are a dedicated jungler, but I don't see how you can be one when the jungles is this weird.
Moevement doesn't feel all that great, feels good while you have stamina but terrible when you don't.
Visual clarity needs a lot of work, it's really hard to tell who's doing what skill.
The ending of matches has a terrible feeling, every fighting that happens inside a base is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of 5415471 shots and skills happening at the same time, which together with the visual clarity issue ends up in just randomness.
Laning feels uninteresting, you kill some minions, side step to the store, buy the same 3 items every time, committing to a fight to kill the opposite laner is meaningless, disengaging is too easy, rotating to another lane doesn't feel rewarding, ganking is too easy to avoid.
The game is in early development. They are still working on the balance, even so it's all skill based. Kelvin for example can carry hard early game but late game unless the player know's what they're doing he's pretty much useless.
That only works if they aren't trying to kill your minions. Early game they have to unload a full clip into a minion unless they're right on it which leaves them open to you. The only way that's busted is if they focus denying you and not killing your minions.
You can have your opinion on that. I won't argue with the way you see that part.
It feels like the exact opposite for me. Tanky characters can just become damage dealers with the right items and get online faster because they're tankier early game and usually have abilities that are good for getting kills.
I was up there top 0,1% paragon player. And I recognize the "the game is too slow, I don't understand" from back then, when players did not understand that paragon WAS a moba, and not a brawler or shooter...
The same seems to be true with Deadlock.
This time it's valve, not epic making the moba though. Lets hope they stick to the genre and does NOT invite ppl only to sell cosmetic bs (console) and change the game more into a shooter because "the player base find the game too hard".
Lets hope Valve TEACHES the playerbase rather than pamper them...
I see no fun mechanics here.
