I FIXED CRASH ON STARTUP!, for me at least

Just verify integrity of game files, make sure its all updated... then close out of steam completely... hit steam on the top left of the steam window. then click exit, go to desktop manager, make sure all steam processes are not running (the the steam client bootstrapper or whatever its called) then restart steam, and boom, good to go.

Hope it helps someone else out there if anyone sees this

succeeded, I think it's because I turned on Vulcan. I uninstalled the game and deleted the game config. The game needs to run in drx 11

I fixed the game instantly crashing on startup by going to the game directory, then game > citadel > cfg

Open boot.vcfg and change "DefaultRenderSystemOption" from "-vulkan" to "-dx11"

Thanks for that, I dont know about you guys, but Im using an Intel arc a770, and my deadlock runs sub 50 frames most times. Thought switching to vulkan would help that

I was crashing at startup too, and updating boot.vcfg didn't help. But setting a launch option did.

Right click Deadlock in library > Properties > General

In Launch Options enter:

DefaultRenderSystemOption=-dx11

That fix is for the game not opening at all/crashing.

If the game opens that means your game works fine. That message is telling you the servers are down.

The server uptimes are listed on the right...
