Multiplayer/Mods
The big one. Right off the bat, there is No reason this game shouldn't have multiplayer. It is a perfect game for it. In fact, its core mechanics are based off of multiplayer RTS games. There's simply just no reason to not to. Other than the work time. Thus realistically, a big update later down the line implementing it would be understandable. Also, probably the most appealing reason; it would attract a lot more people to the game. Not having multiplayer in your game in this day in age, is almost always the wrong move. Obviously it depends on the game. Some are made to be single player. And this is not one of them. This game is basically screaming for it.

Obviously, in the end, it comes down to the person in charge to decide what's in the game. But if we're being realistic, it doesn't even have to be. I'm referring to mods. The beauty of mods, is that you don't have to do the work for more content. If you make it mod friendly, then people will do the work for you, for free. The campaign you can make vanilla only, expectedly.

Anyways, this game has a lot of potential I can see. I'm very excited to play the full game.

I totally agree with this. both Co-op and a pvp mode will breathe long life into this game.

I agree on mod friendliness, but multiplayer? In a game like this? I don't see what you're talking about at all.

i will say that i agree. i dont quite understand what people keep saying about how this game seems to be screaming for multiplayer. i just dont see it. what would the other players even do? the games has a more Person versus everything perspective so i dont understand how some people want this to be a pvp. and for co-op i feel it would get to crowded. like having to many cooks in the kitchen. i may just be overlooking or missing something but i dont see it. as for the whole mods thing i suppose they could work but honestly this game seems like it will be great on its own. im normally all for mods and customizing games but this one seems like a great standalone.

I'm afraid that there are no plans for implementing traditional co-op. That may change as we'll be committed to improving Cataclismo for years. Never say never, even if it's quite complicated.

Mods, however, are a different story. We're already discussing it with our Discord members, and trying to implement mods at some point. Probably not on Day 1, though.

There are so many multiplayer RTS games though and so few good singleplayer ones. I'm here for the singleplayer experience, just to add that some of us would rather not see time used on multiplayer, as time is ofc limited. Later? Sure. Early on? Nope, then I'd keep my money for some other game.

Considering most of the time is spent building while paused, I don't see how multiplayer could be feasable without affecting the core gameplay.
