Runs ok on the steamdeck
averaging 30 fps with shadows off throughout the game including final night

I hope theres more graphic option to tweak around in future release

We tried it internally and it does work on the deck although we didn't invest too much time on it (or the controls). Did you enjoy the experience?

I enjoyed it as what Castle Story should have been.

Looking forward on future release for optimization / graphic option to tweak for 60fps

We'll do our best, but it's a tricky game when it comes to performance since things get a little crazy with the number of objects on screen later on :)

I use the steam deck too. Graphic wise i had no problem. It would be nice if the game had a pre thought of control layout for the deck. Will definitely play it if the controls seems natural with it !

I found the UI and font really small so hope that’s tweaked before release

We haven't adapted the game to the Steam Deck yet. Hence, the UI is the same as the one from the PC version and feels too small for a handheld device. If we "port" Cataclismo to the Deck at any point, everything will be smooth and perfectly playable.

please consider porting it indeed! game looks too awesome to not be able to play on the steam deck with smooth controls

I'd also like to pitch in and say if ui is scaled and controller mapped i'll definitely be playing on the deck :) performance improvements would be a plus but not deal breaker. Awesome demo tho <3

Im happy to report ( or bump ) that whatever optimisation you guys did, the game runs better on the same map including the final wave. Runs around 45 - 60 fps | no shadow.

The font was crazy small even on a laptop to be honest. The text on a unit is like 6 point font which is just too small for a PC let alone a steamdeck. I bounced out of the demo pretty quick due to it because trying to stare at font that small causes eyestrain.

Agreed. Rules out any setup other than desktop on a decent-sized monitor at close distance for me. No TV setup possible (which I most often use), hardly see how any of this would be readable on Deck, or even a laptop. Bounced out too bc of it.

Perhaps there's some room for improvement when it comes to text size. Will check it!

Was the font/UI updated for the EA release today?

+1 for Deck support down the road.
To me this is exactly the type of game i play on the deck. Feels like UI scaling is the main issue.
