Outleveled
Okay so I'm just going through the story and we were asked to go to the dome to see the tournament brackets.

When I went outside of the main building where the classes are held, I noticed there were some battles available and a side-quest where this guy dropped his wallet inside a trash bin and asked me to get a grabbing thing from George.

So I did that, and it starts off a whole bunch of nonstop battles. Usually my HP goes back to full after each battle but in this case looks like it just stays where it is. Anyway, that's not really my issue. I'm level 8 and Mina is level 7 and how are we battling a team of 3 of like level 17 or something? I've been retrying the battle for more than 10x already and I just couldn't win because my HP is so low and that I'm severely under-leveled compared to them.

Hey! I'm sorry you are having trouble with that sidequest. It's not super clear in the game, but you can always load your last save instead of retrying. The game auto-saves super frequently, so you don't need to worry about losing too much progress.

Regarding your level, sometimes the enemies appear tougher than they really are. Try to get more XP from the optional battles (opponents with a red icon on their heads) if you can! There are also some items that level you up scattered throughout the school.

If you are still having too much trouble and this is upsetting you, you can lower the damage you take on the acessibility option too. I hope this helps!

Hmm strange i found the opposite of that I was fighting enemies that were level 10 when i was like level 20 or sometimes lower, but then again i never went pass any fights and all my characters are almost level 50 lol

That's what I was trying to do.. I try to fight everyone before I move the story along. That's how I usually play my games, do all the side-quests first before doing the main quest, that way I'm overpowered.

I honestly think I could beat the ones 10 levels above me had my HP gone back to full after each battle but I had to start the third battle at very low HP so it was like I couldn't really do anything.

Yea that fight got hairy very fast, although I remember surviving the third round barely with some good dodging and catch.

Don't remember if Ballooney was unlocked that time, his heals helped a lot!

I kinda hope some stuff would be a challange in the game.
This game would be an experiment for me, but it made me remember another sports RPG game I played once and I got kinda excited about some stuff.

Now today I only hoped that I can be sure the game isn't filled with useless AI.
You know those enemies where you try to have a good fight but they aren't able to aim properly at you if there life depends on it.

How long is the single player mode? PVP with this game might be interessting, but that's never really my main reason to buy a game.

He's still not playable at this point. I only have Mina with me.

I guess we're both at a different phase in our lives, I used to play games on regular difficulties but now I set everything to the easier difficulties since I don't really have time to grind games that much. I just want to go through the story so I can finish the game and play the next.

Its just a side quest, you can do it later when youre leveled up

Heh, just ran into this last night also.
This sidequest was an insane difficulty spike, Actually got me very annoyed and frustrated, making me wonder wtf the devs were thinking throwing a 3 wave fight without heals and a lvl 17 enemy at you right at the start of chapter 2 :SCOUTshock:

Thankfully I discovered the accessibility options and cheated my way through..
Wasted too much time as it was on that.

Before I retried this sidequest, I went to finish all the other battles first before initiating this one getting a level or two. I ended up completing it but I was left with Otto at 0 HP, and Mina at 1 HP.. it was such a clutch win. One thing that I think would've made it easier had I done it before this sidequest is to buy that very cheap item - I forgot what it was called but it was the $1+ bandage that restores around 30% of your HP after every battle. I didn't buy it then because Ballooney was healing our party after each battle but not in between those ones.

Well another option is to use the skull ring which heals 15% damage each time you hit an opponent. Use that on Otto as he's your strongest attacker and another item to boost his attack like gloves.
Stoibs Aug 9, 2021 @ 6:24pm
I had the bandage, unfortunately for me I had it on the wrong character - Used Otto for round 1 and 2, he got KO'd at the end of that and I took control of Mina for the last fight who was at full HP.. but still couldn't hold up against 3 enemies at once.

I've yet to actually be able to use her Limit Break special either, which I thought might have given me an edge. Fills way too slow compared to the enemies :steamsad:

Ah well, I'm glad I could move the difficulty in my favour. That daily challenger sidequest who started off at 1HP in chapter 1 got a ridiculous jump also, completely wiped me out in 1 or 2 hits when I challenged him again :O

Chapter 1 of the game certainly set up a false sense of how easy the battles were generally going to be before destroying you as early as thing

Aaah the daily challenger, yeah he made me think he was going to be a walk in the park, but the second time I challenged him, I almost lost but I still managed. I think I've fought him like 3 times so far because I'm just about to start Episode 4 and I haven't lost yet.. but it's definitely not a "gg ez" type of match anymore.

the daily challenger was fun surprisingly never lost to him i just assumed they would try to trick you after the first fight was so easy lol
Stoibs Aug 9, 2021 @ 6:57pm
Heh, he one-shot killed me on the second chapter the first time.

Next attempt I just rebounded the shot with Mina and did the ~60 odd damage back to him for a win :steamhappy:
