Any chance for achievements to be implemented?

I love the game and recently came back because I bought the dlc. I saw a thread saying that achievements were part of the plan but it's been two years since that, and they're not here yet. Are they still a thing I should look out for or have the devs moved on to other projects? I would really like to have them.
