Not every game needs, or even is built for co-op.
Co-op doesn't immediately make a game better, nor does not having it make it worse.
There are definitely not a million coop offerings of this genre.
Roboquest the beacon of coop FPS roguelike for me. Dropped it after an hour of solo but played 50+hours in 2 player coop. Great progression, world, loot, meta progression.
Crab Champions is amazing as a 4 player coop loot bonanza roguelike. Great in-run progression but lacking in meaningful meta progression.
Some people will cite Risk of Rain 2 or Gunfire Reborn. Sadly didn't work great for me. Runs felt too long.
If you could point me to even 20 great coop fps looter shooter roguelikes that I'm blind to I'd appreciate it.
I would say that the defining missing feature from Battle Shapers is online coop
