Why would you even post this ? Don't care if it's the truth or not, it's just disrespect for other people who want to play the game to see the story, not to get spoiled on the internet.
Jesus Christ.
As rgmaberry asked, how do you know this ? Do you know someone who works on the game or are you just messing with us ?
10.12.2021 the release date !
BRING IT ON
exactly. this woke cancel culture sjw´s are everywhere. they ruin everything,
What does a Soviet gulag have to do with anything? She hasn't gone back in time. It's quite clear from the photo on the train that World War II was a LONG time ago. I haven't played Syberia 3, so maybe I'm completely wrong, but I had the impression she had been captured by some sort of paramilitary group, possibly Neo-Nazis.
As to hairstyle and clothing, it isn't that uncommon for prisoners to have their heads shaved. And the fact that they're not wearing any sort of uniform suggests that this is not an "official" Russian prison, so she's probably wearing whatever clothing she's been able to get.
Finally, the lesbian thing. I'm not persuaded that "they're just friends" argument. They've made it pretty clear from the way the guards joke about them. But it's not unheard of for someone to have a homosexual relationship in prison who had no previous experience. It could be situational homsexuality or perhaps she was bisexual all along. All we really know about her sexuality from the previous games (unless she had some torrid romance in Syberia 3) is she had a boyfriend who was kind of a jerk back in New York.
Interesting take you have on all this. I have some thoughts myself which may have and/or may not have evolved over the past months since the release of the prologue/demo and the release of news, screenshots, and media. I also have played the prologue/demo off and on over the past several months since it's release on Steam and have amassed over 43.5 hours of playtime in it so I have amassed knowledge more or less from own POV anyway of what I think is going on.
1)The prison/salt mine might be and might not be an official prison and heck might not even be Russian I don't think they said in what country it's supposed to be for that part just that it's Winter 2004 in the Iron Taiga Region wherever that is. The prison/salt mine is run by a consortium of mobsters so anything can be possible regardless of how it's funded, supplied, and run. There's all kinds of anachronisms in the Syberia franchise anything's possible. I myself have actually played all 3 of the first Syberia games, but haven't finished Syberia 3 yet. I have played through 3 quite a bit, but not all the way though and I actually spoiled myself the ending by accident looking at Syberia fan art online.
2)Yeah the hairstyle and clothing I agree to some extent, but not completely let me elaborate. Both her hair color and her cellmate's hair color are blue on purpose and the same goes for the blue cloths or bands they both have on their arms and blue X's they both have on the backs of their jackets because they are both in Team Blue as evidenced by the rules of conduct documentation on the wall in their cell and by the fact that their guard/section manager Simona calls them collectively Team Blue. So there is some uniformity sort of to what they wear in terms of clothes and hair.
3)Now the Lesbian and/or Bisexual thing I can say from experience having played through most of the Syberia franchise not much comes up about Kate's orientation in Syberia 1 through Syberia 3 almost at all except she had been engaged to a man back in NYC who was her fiance who started seeing Kate's friend Olivia and the prologue/demo brings this up again with Dan (Kate's now ex-fiance) being hitched now with Olivia who is now Mrs. Foster instead of Olivia Parker. That bit about the love triangle is brought up maybe in Syberia 2 I don't remember, but is brought up more or less in Syberia 3. Now they don't mention anything about Kate's orientation, marriage (except Dan and Olivia all that) or romance, etc. in the prologue/demo at all that I can recall. Maybe Katyusha Kate's cellmate has Lesbian and/or Bisexual leanings or feelings for Kate, but I can't see much of a hint of that from Kate. Now for that matter maybe Dana Roze is that kind of character in this game and because she's a new character I could see them making her that kind of person, but who knows. I have seen a lot of Syberia fans having all kinds of opinions and stances on this I even have some myself. I don't have too much of a problem myself if it's done right and respectfully to Kate's character and arc and the Syberia legacy, but I will admit I am somewhat attached to her character and can relate to her a lot. The guards including Simona don't say or joke about anything to do with Kate and Katyusha's relationship except Nic Cantin in the diary says the guards laughed when it was mentioned how Kate and Katyusha take care of each other and that point isn't elaborated on. Plus some further thoughts based on their 12 hour workshift mining for salt and ivory and other relics they'd have a lot of time to sleep and eat and drink (what little the prison staff gave them which if I remember is actually 5 liters of water per cell a day not per person and that's not much plus meals and rest were privileges) so they probably just had time to sleep and take and eat/drink and not much else and then wake up and do it all over again plus they weren't sleeping in the same bed/cot. Also when Katyusha reminds Kate not to forget to take her good luck charm (Oscar's heart with her) Kate says "It's all I got left." I also can't see Kate being too bitter towards anyone in the long run depending on the situation if she has changed or will change as a person in terms of her romance and orientation, but I guess that also depends on what they let the players choose in terms of story direction and dialogue. Anyways I respect your standpoint and comment sorry this was so long. More or less the long and short of it all for this part is I can't see them having Kate as anything in the long run as anything other than straight, bisexual curious, or lesbian curious temporarily or permanently not that it's a big deal. Though I will say that I can see why this would be and could be a big deal for other fans I may not agree with everything they might think about it I can at least respect it. I think that's all I can say on this without going on about it for a long while. These are of course just my opinions and the details I have gathered from the franchise myself and is partly my own POV of it all so make of it what you will. Peace
Angry narrow minded gamer's as usual, p*ssing on our shoes and telling us it's raining.
Syberia fans? Are you fans or not? Then buy the game. The game makes money. And we get sequels. Simple right?
That's all.
