Controller not working? X360CE might fix your issue.

Download and run X360CE. Make sure steam controller input is disabled for the game.

While the game is booted, remap your controller on x360ce, and once done, minimize it. It should work.

if the program doesn't let you map anything, while on controller 1, click "Add..." select your controller, and click add selected device. make sure "enable mapped device" is on, maybe "get Xinput state" as well.

Still not working? use HID Guardian. Go to the options tab, click on HID Guardian, and install it. not sure if auto configure needs to be checked, but it does work with it on.
it should auto hide your direct input device, so it can't assume you're using anything but an (emulated) 360 controller.

FOR KEYBOARD
you should be able to do similar steps as above, but use "Add.." to add your keyboard. It's a jank solution but it should theoretically work. It's untested, so I didn't bring it up in the title.


For the record, I still think it's inexcusable to make a controller only game, but then make it so only specific controllers work. I can understand one or the other. Not both.
