Not supported doesn't mean that the games won't work.

And he is just asking if anyone tried it on Windows 7.

In case you didn't know, many games released nowdays still work fine on Windows 7, even if it isn't officially supported.

Yeah. But why would you willingly put yourself in a position where if and when the software fails later you have zero recourse. And there will be zero chances of fixes. Just cause it works today doesn't mean it will tomorrow. And just cause it works for someone doesn't mean it will for anyone else.

The way most people use it, it never had any support or fixes in the first place, and even if it's sure to "fail" people will still use the OS they prefer, doesn't matter if a stranger shares their thoughts about how it's not the right way. Don't get worked up.

Sadly, it does not launch.
I tried it, and it doesn't work (it doesn't even display an error message, it just stops).

It's kind of weird that a 14yr old Wii port doesn't support W7.
I'd probably buy it right now if it did but since it doesn't I'd have to play it on my laptop which I don't really want to do.

Plus $20 seems kind of steep for a 0 effort PC port that doesn't even have any graphics options beyond FXAA or MSAA and Fullscreen:On/Off and has no kb/m support.
I wishlisted it and will probably wind up picking it up in a year or so when there's a decent discount but this is pretty disappointing.

It's a strange choice because the game obviously doesn't utilize any modern technology that is exclusive to post-7 Windows.
In my experience most pre-W8 releases run fine on W8-10 so other than slightly more QA possibly I don't understand why Grasshopper chose to specifically target W8.1 for the port.

What do you mean? You have more or less zero recourse beyond the two weeks/two hours of playtime refund period either way.
You're willingly putting yourself in this position basically every time you buy a game, even if you have exactly the recommended hardware they list on the store page.

Sadly, it does not launch.
I tried it, and it doesn't work (it doesn't even display an error message, it just stops).

Damn, what a shame.
I really wanted to play it, since I've never owned a Wii, but watched lots of cutscenes from this game. Even worse, moving to Win 10 is not an option for me in a loooong time.
At least now everyone interested can know it for sure.

windows 7 is left behind but it's still more loved than windows 10 and i am using windows 10. 10 isn't bad once you get rid of the telemetry and bloat and get classic shell but it's still not as good as 7 ever was for compatibility. I also really don't see why a WII GAME doesn't work on 7, that boggles my mind.

I've tested the game on multiple machines and Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 show identical error messages, even though 8.1 should be supported according to the info on the Store page. My guess is that this will be patched eventually.
