Death box disappearing

This game is great but its so frustrating when your death box just disappears and you lost ALL your uninsured items. In the desert area my friend and I have both died and when we've come back, out death boxes are just gone. Searching the area, nothing. Didn't look like our characters fell through the world. This has happened, so far, three times in two days. This issue alone is going to make me unfortunately stop playing :(

Hey there! Sorry to hear you are having this issue. We've been working hard on ensuring there are no issues with players losing their deathboxes as we understand that can be very frustrating, especially in a game about loot.
We haven't received many reports recently about this after the last fix so maybe you have found another edge case with the death box system that we need to address. It should spawn at the last location you were touching the ground and not using a golf cart. It should also spawn the recent death marker on the map at the exact location of the death box so you can find it using that as a reference.
If you are able to send us your save file, I can use a search tool to find where your death box is, assuming it has not already despawned.
You can send your entire zipped save file folder to [e-mail]. It is located here: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\LocalLow\Airstrafe Interactive\Saleblazers\Saves\YourSteamID (which is a bunch of numbers). Please reference 12984 in the email if you do. I have added your issue to that ticket number.

Thank you for your reply! The twice it's happened to me and once to my friend were in the desert. When it happened last night to my other friend, we were in the Outlaws camp to the West of the Trenches in the snow biome, if that helps in case there's some issues in that area

I definitely appreciate the offer! I think the deathboxes would have despawned by now and we've re-made our gear :( , but I will definitely join Discord with my friends, in case it happens again.

I'll take a look at those areas and see if there's any issues with dying in those places specifically that might cause this. Thank you very much for the details!

If you've remade the gear that's all good, but the death boxes do take a pretty long time to despawn so there is a solid chance that they are still there if this happened in the past few days, especially your friend's most recent one. But no worries if you would prefer to avoid the hassle of sending your file. If it ever happens again hopefully I can help! But ideally we'll get it to a place where it won't happen again!

Hey Byron1c! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. We just added an NPC that can recover your death boxes remotely to help alleviate this if it happens again! I hope this helps and you can continue to enjoy Saleblazers.

this happened to me once, in the desert, but my deathbox somehow appeared in a room near my bed in a shop. hope this helps. the deathbox was marked in my shop on the map and not where i died, but my deathbox was actually there (at the mapped location, not the location where i died), which was very odd.
