How do I lockpick?

Basically you need to line up the spinning piece with the outside piece, and move in towards the inner piece, only a small bit of the spinning piece needs to be touching. But you have to work from the outside in.

To lockpick something in this game, you need to time your click in the lockpicking minigame in such a way that you line up the little green-ish marks on to lock to create a sort of pathway from the outermost mark to the innermost mark. I hope that makes sense.

so the outer ring is your start, the inner ring is end, the goal is to have a connected path from all the other spinning rings. your mouse can create a better angle to see the spin closer to where you need it to stop.
