How to unlock employees?

Not sure im lvl 12 shops and i have not yet figured out how to get employees, that games doesn't explain it and its very annoying either that or i'm blind..

Somewhere along the research tree is an "Employee Table", which you build at a crafting bench under, I believe, the Shopkeeping section. You hire employees from there, as well as train and manage them.
Their wages are paid from the vault of the shop you hire employees for, and as far as I know they get paid hourly regardless of the shop being open or closed, if they're on shift.
On the off chance you haven't touched the vault yet, it's a simple bank system you can access either from an Employee Table or a shop sign, in the form of "-$100" and "+$100" buttons as well as a tracker of stored funds.
