Does the Ethereal Breeding Boost Work for Epics?

The breeding boost says it gives a +500% chance of breeding single element ethereals on the natural islands. Assuming an epic ethereal is a 1% chance, (which we don't know for sure anyways) it should be a 6% chance. I just went through OVER 200 ATTEMPTS at breeding for epics on cold and water island, and was successful exactly once. Using 0.94 (the chance of being unsuccessful) to the power of 200, the chance of only hitting it only once is 0.0027%, or about 1 in 37 thousand. I feel like my luck is astronomically low, but maybe I am doing my calculations wrong, and we don't know breeding rates for epic ethereals anyways.

Probably your calculations are wrong. The wiki says a common ghazt that is almost 1%, so you'd take 50 attempts to get a 50% chance of breeding it. So a rare ghazt should be something likely half this chance (0.5%) and epics would be another half of it (0.25%). The wiki did not say about those rare & epic ghazt breeding chances, that is just what i think. It could be a lot lower. But i think the answer is yes, since i just got a epic grumpyre on cold island without torches (very lucky). And it was during the bonanza boost.

Yes, a common ghazt is a 1% chance, but epic and rare rates are mostly unknown and there isn't some direct ratio between them. Also, That's not how probability works: the chance of breeding a ghazt after 50 attempts is 39.5%. (0.99^50 =~0.605 and 1 - 0.605 = 0.395). However, it could be fair that an epic ghazt is around a 0.25% chance because that would change my astronomically low luck (1 in 37 thousand) to about 7%, assuming the breeding bonanza boost. But I am skeptical, because I have previously bred an epic ghazt in about 10 tries (during bonanza) and an epic reebro in about 5 tries (without a breeding boost OR torches) I have also seen many people talk about breeding epic ethereals really quick, so I still believe my luck was terrible.
