Yool, why so hard to get?

I got all 10 torches fired up. Level 18 Trumpies and Congle (at 100% happy) getting it on. Yool is flashing on the book screen. Yay is in full swing, but it looks like I'm gonna need to re-lite torches.

Any tip's to help. Is there a better breeding combo? Thanks.

(follow up I finally go Yool on the way. He showed up on Cold Mirror and on the non-mirror Island. It has taken over 20 failed breeding attempt. Arrgh.)

That is the ONLY breeding combo, believe it or not. Never go gambling. Ever.

Okay Then I must be going something wrong because I have been trying to breed for Yool ever since the event started, two-three times a day EVERY SINGLE DAY and still nothing. I've lite all the torches, changed their names, leveled them, tried when torches were out, and still nothing. I know it's a tough one but damn I'm getting stuff on all the other islands even after a few tries but this one...yea something is going on.

I have a similar issue with Rare Maw.

I have been breeding for a Rare Maw on literally every island on which it's available for six months every time it's been available. I've never successfully bred one - even with ten torches lit. I have tried literally hundreds of times. Zero successes. Breeding Mammott/Toejammer OR breeding Maw/Rare Maw together. Nothing.

Every RMaw I have comes from buying it in the Starshop or spending the gems to buy the monster.

Yet my kid, who plays on iOS, gets rare everything the first or second time they try on the iPad.

I truly think breeding chances are lower on the PC version than on the mobile.

Example: on my Plant island, I have an upgraded breeding station, multiple torches lit, level 20 mammott, level 15 Toe jammer, and all I ever get is standard Maw, Maw, Maw.

If Yool = Thumpies + Congle, do they have to be all natural, or will Rare Thumpies work the same for breeding purposes?

okay so, not everyone knows this, but the breeding monsters required level or happiness don't actually affect any chances... found this at a blog post in the wiki. Since you already got torches, the other only way to change the chances to be higher is buying the titan island skin, as it duplicates the wishing torches effect. Nothing else can affect chances. Good luck anyway!

EDIT: i'm not really sure if levels or hapiness afect chances as the blog post was about a experiment for a specific monster! But i highly believe it is true!

Rares dont effect the breeding system (iirc)

I know it's a rare chance for a Yool but I can't be going on 50+ failed attempts, twice a day every single day of this dumb event, with it almost being over and STILL not have it!! They should do a 500% on seasonals and not just the ethereals. I can't believe the crazy I am going through atm!

also guys, getting a monster that is not 100% guaranted is PURE LUCK! i noticed a lot of people commenting at this discussion are believing in dumb things that affect luck! the only thing that actually affects the chances of getting monsters IS wishing torches, torches+titan island skins, breeding bonanza and most importantly: YOUR LUCK! anything that is not related to those can't change the chances!

Some people just get those monsters because of their luck. For example, i got 2 yools with enough patience and didn't even use torches (note that i have titan skin, i don't know if that still affects). I really wanted to get rare & epic counterparts which were barely avaible, and didn't get. I didn't get mad. I was only able to get yool because i was patient and it was avaible for more than 10 days! and rare & epic were just avaible for less than 2 days! So just don't get mad! If you have enough patience to wait for out of season, actual event or promotions happen, you always have the chance to get it again! I should also mention that those kinds of things that let your wished monster happen every 15-30 days! (or 2-3 months for a seasonal)

Although, i can still understand a lot the pain of getting a monster that is not 100%, i know it's super hard especially when you're out of luck (which i was doing through for a lot, really a lot even with torches for a lot of times). Just commenting this to make people understand that there are not other ways to increase the chances.

Thanks for the advice everyone. And SweetLala25, I'm sending positive waves that you'll get a Yool before the event is over! I'm pretty frustrated accumulating all of these Thumpies I don't need while trying for Yool, so I feel your pain.

Ho ho ho - I finally got Yool! He's spending a day and a half inside an egg first, but I got him! Either my Level 14 Rare Thumpies + Level 15 Congle with around 9 lit torches did it, or more likely it's just how the dice rolled this time around.

I'm guessing the RNG gods were finally on my side because I finally got it!! This was a truly awful experience and so unexpected because every other monster I go for, I get so quick or at least within the first 8 tries but over 50+ in the spans of nearly 30 days....yea I'm not eager to do that again.

And for the record, titan skin matters, and monster level matters for success rate (not necessarily for rare, but for breed in general).
