KEEP BAKING
and please dont try to speedrun getting to level 20 for wubbox. i made that mistake because i was bloodthirsty and far too late i realized it costs an entire bank to buy
Research monster farming so you'll know what to do when you're ready.
Never use diamonds to speed things up - just wait and hoard your diamonds early on. They are not easy to acquire.
Never pay full price for dipsters - try to wait for sales when they cost 1 key each.
SPIN and play the memory game each day to get free currencies. Login each day at least for a moment to get the higher login bonuses (ex - day ten gives 25 diamonds!).
Eventually "Mini-Mine" structures will be available for 10 diamonds, to create one diamond per day each. Put one on each island you can as quickly as possible. It'll pay off big time in the long run.
Skip unnecessary stuff (costumes, most decorations) at first. EXCEPT for when you view the LIKES of each monster to make them happy.
Whenever a monster gets to level 15, you can visit Gold Island and copy it there (not all monsters, I believe - not sure). Try to get all monsters to level 10 at least so they earn you coins quickly.
Remove a couple obstacles (trees, rocks) each day. That clears space and gives you XP points (for raising your level - upper left corner of the screen).
When Wishing Torches become available (level 12?), place at least 6 on only one or two islands that you want to focus on, then promote your friend code on this forum so others can light your torches and you can light theirs. (My friend code is 4002213413BB). That helps breed rarer monsters.
Drop your friend code wherever you post here. (Use the Friends Menu - your code is in the upper right corner).
DO NOT join a tribe until you know how they work, and have a good way to farm the shards you'll need to really help a tribe.
If you're into composing, note that a new song costs 25 diamonds, then 50 diamonds, then 100 diamonds, etc. So plan out what you want to do there carefully in advance. It's really fun, but expensive! However, the monsters on that island are pretty inexpensive.
The Colossingum doesn't do much for you, but training monsters costs little. So train one every day or two to prepare for when you do want to explore that island more.
If the music is important to you, realize that which monsters you have, their position on the island (left or right pans their sound left or right), the MUTE button for each monster, and each monster's volume control on the MOVE menu lets you tailor the song to sound as you wish. Also, after you upgrade castles you'll start to get a bass synth sound from them.
Most important of all, use the Friends menu to visit as many other peoples' islands as possible, upvote islands you like, and light their torches when you can. That will earn you Star Power (the blue stars). That will also show you what is possible and help you plan what you want to achieve or avoid. Otherwise you'll be running blind until you reach level 20 or so. For example, I don't like those giant robots at all (Wubbox?), so I'm sorry I wasted time working toward those for a while.
Watch some YouTube tutorials. Not that they are all great, but they'll help you get a feel for things you can't see until you're at a much higher level. Knowledge is power!
Have fun. MSM is a really cute and fun game!
Also..
Only if you dont care if your ingame friends are actually people you know or not.
Which, if you dont, it's totally worth it.
On EVERY save file I always get every island as soon as possible
I literally have no farms in any save files unless you count my toe jammer army on mirror plant as a farm
I have never done the memory game in my life unless I'm looking for teasers
I decorate every single one of my islands regardless of progress (albeit not for likes)
I used to not care about monster position though Project Awakening's pyro aqua changed that
The only youtube tutorials I've watched are breeding guides
Also I never light my friends torches past lvl 20 or so. (I wish there was a way to unfriend ppl because I would tell everybody to unfriend me rn)
Everything else I do though so uhh...
Thanks to Yellow and TruckmanGabe for the additions and corrections. I'm only at level 21, so don't take what I say as gospel. But that's what I would have done from the beginning if I could do it over again, up to level 21 at least.
I recommend to only buy Werdos when they're on sale, same with Dipsters. It's simply more cost-effective and efficient.
This is my first Steam guide, any advice or constructive criticism in the comments would be much appreciated. If anyone else has tips, feel free to leave them in the comments.
