It really depends on what sort of gamer you are. The basic gameplay is the same, the playstyle and economy are different. If you're a mobile gamer, you'll likely be happier with the mobile version, if you're not a mobile gamer, you'll likely prefer the Steam version.
Mobile MSM is a mobile live-service game, you typically check it briefly several times a day (e.g. whenever you get a notification) because you usually have your phone with you, it's ad-driven, you get free speedups and spins from ads, plus the offerwall.
Steam MSM is an idle-type live-service game, you typically sit down 1-4 times a day to play it for 5-30 minutes, and you don't get "free" stuff in return for ads.
Some people do play Mobile MSM on a PC via a mobile emulator like Bluestacks, so perhaps that's an option too? (I don't have personal experience with it, and it's not officially supported I think, but it seems to work well.)
