Converter says my MKV files have "No video."

Hello!



I am using Movavi Video Converter Premium 2022 (Steam).

I am having an issue trying to convert my .MKV movie I would like to watch on TV. I have a movie that is XXX.MKV and I would like to convert it to MP4. However, when I add the movie to the converter, it says it has "No video," even though it is a whole movie (both video and audio). Trying to convert it like this will create MP4 file that has no video file on it.



I tried to "Add Media" "Add Video" but it keep saying "No video." Somehow, the converter is unable to detect the video from the movie and I don't know how to fix it or what to do. Is there any way to make it work?



I just tried different files (also MKV) and they worked, but there were some that did not detect the video as well.

I was going to post this using Movavi Support but I am getting "Captcha verification failed, try again!" error even though it's correct and after 10th try I am giving up.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello!

Such issues can happen if the video files is encoded with the H.265 codec (it is also called HEVC).

This codec is not fully supported by Movavi programs. As there is no clear licensing model, it does not allow commercial companies to use H.265 codec safely.

However, if you use Windows 10, you can download from the link below and install the H.265/HEVC Video Extension, which allows you using H.265/HEVC codec in Movavi programs:
