So this game has been "dying" for the last 7 month
but theres a still 500 ppl on. even a bit higher than before i quit.
there were like 300 ppl on 7 month ago with all this doomsday talk.

i mean 500 isnt exactly a healthy number for an mmo but i fully expected the servers to be shut down by now

is this game better now or something?

We still have 1 very stubborn doomsayer and sadly those people will always be there.

We are now on update 2.1, 7 months ago sound like you played before the expansion, you can now level to sage 1 and we got 2.5 new classes, the Foxmage and the 2 Warriors

This game isn't dying. I don't understand why people comment on a game they obviously do not play regularly and have no intention of playing but would like to spread doom and gloom to others. I am enjoying this game, please find a game you like and provide positive comments or critiques.

Game didn't change much. Noone can look at the population and think it's healthy. Game clearly has issues that keeps it from growing, and it's not the lack of advertisement I'm afraid.

It has a small but persistent population if anything. The game might not be dead but it isn't really "alive" either, the servers are only up because theres a thing called "sunk cost fallacy": gameforge already spent the money on server equipment and the deal, so might as well milk it and try to recoup costs. As long as it keeps going the more likely the game is to turn profits. If they stop they lose that chance.

The biggest argument for that is the lack of said advertising. They don't wanna spend more than necessary.

for the record i actually quite like this game, but i was also simultanously playing wow and didnt have time for two mmo's. i chose the one that all of my friends are still playing which was wow. another reason was the unheatlhy low # of players and the feel that the game might die soon.

also i dont know if anyone else has this issue but this game kind of hurts my eyes for some reason, maybe some choppiness to the frames ??

it can also be the default picture style settings which are way too bright and foggy for some reason. You can change this at the top left of your screen at ''picture style:'' and change it to something better for your eyes

Personally, I'm uncertain if it is better or not. New content dropped though including the season pass which is casual solo content so that may be bringing folks back around. I play multiple MMO's and invest a lot of hours into them, I would say SOLO is my most casual experience of them all. Every thing I need to do I can complete in a short amount of time and then there's really nothing left for me to do.

I think the game is still hurting during off-peak hours. There was a seasonal event a couple weeks ago that once again relied on players to queue up and I couldn't complete it since no one would enter the queue for hours. :mbshaaa: Unless you can play at the peak hours of most of the playerbase on your server, you'll still struggle with things like that. I also wonder if some of these events are repeats which would be even less incentive for long time players to participate in because once you already have the rewards, what's the point of doing them. I sincerely hope the devs are looking at their most casual of content (seasonal events) and gauging the numbers off of that.

There are new players everywhere I went so I doubt there is any chance that the game is dying for now. However they have to do something to encourage those new players to stay. There are enough contents (new and old) for players to do but somehow they haven't make good use of them. Most of them are forgotten and few players want to run them because of the out date rewards, another problem is the time gates that make players want to logout because there is no point of staying once you got everything done for the day with just one or two hours of playing.

The only reason I'm not investing that much time into this game is because of justice online coming Q4 of 2022. So no hard feeling to the developers.

I heard Justice online can be P2W, hope I am wrong. It does use Unreal 4 engine and SOLO need to play catch up on that. If it does come to the West at the end of this year I may jump on it since I don't like the time gates on SOLO.

A game that isn't growing is dying, and that's the point. Any updates they're making right now is probably stuff that is already in development or that they're easily porting over from the mainline version. IE: New classes, etc that already exist in their native country of release.

As for new content after that? If the game's population is garbage, it's not going to get updates because it's not cost-effective. So if there's no growth. The game will eventually be dead in the water.

The Chinese version is actually very popular in China and is still getting content, we get their content.

Let's dissect whats being said here. First let me give you some examples of games Everquest (is still around) Everquest 2 (is still around) LOTRO (is still around) In order for a game (MMO) to truly die it has to be pretty bad (Wildstar). They shrink servers down and then utilize them in other places. But continue to support the game. I believe this game is popular in its native country. So do I think its dead, nope. Do I think it's suddenly going to be a hit, nope. Western countries are fickle about what mmo's they like. WoW should have been shut down a long time ago. I stopped playing it 6 or 7 years ago. Gated progression and attitude of the devs killed it for me. Here is my advice if you enjoy playing SOLO play it, if not play something else.

Justice online will be out Q4, looks amazing. Right now I am enjoying SOLO. No this game is not dead.

as a chinese , here's some "insider" info:

wouldn't get ur hopes up on justice online, the singe player version is REALLY bad gameplay wise. graphics was its only positive.

its also getting published by netease who makes the most predatory p2w games out there. blizzard co-published diablo immortal with netease, who designed the p2w aspects of it.
and diablo immortal single handedly destroyed blizzards image from that perspective.
