While completing this game is just not fun, we should not judge it only by that metric. It's still a very fun game to play through, and it is worth playing a second time for sure. Just completing it that is a nightmare.
I can enjoy some grind in games but this has become a terrarium, fishing, and mushroom hunting simulator. All I do is make a circuit of the map every day. I rarely find any of the items I'm looking for. This morning I looked up one of the shells I need to complete the museum collection and according to official wiki the spawn rate is 0.01%. At this point it feels like the game is no longer respecting my time.
I wouldn't want to leave a negative review because I think there are some great and fun things about this game. But I do think there needs to be some work done around the end game. For now I think I am going to take a big step back from Everafter Falls and hope that there are some updates in the future.
What is the logic behind the fact that the more you like a game and the more you want to complete it, the more it mistreats you? I just can't get it.
I really wish the devs would fix the RNG, or whatever it is that's causing this. And that they would be more communicative, like before.
That being said, if the shell you're looking for is the iridescent rainbow conch, forget about finding it on the beach. I've had as many as 90 shell extractors for no success. I finally got it from an extraordinary rock. The kind with a bright blue stripe. Now, I had to open like 500 of them, in batches of 100.
Definitely, if they don't fix it, this game is not for the completionist, nor the impatient. It takes nerves of steel. Good night and good luck <3

Version 2.0 content release is now undergoing testing, please see the pinned post for details on how to participate.
In particular, it addresses all the issues with completing collections and getting all achievements. It has a lot of late game items that help with this.
This version should go live within the coming weeks if no major bugs are found.
