Pixies on Tappers
I've read in a couple different posts that a rainbow pixie can reduce sap extraction times, but I can't figure out how to place the rainbow pixie on the tapper to begin with. Please help.

A pixie has to be on a shrine or a harvestable source, like a rock for a blue pixie, a machine for a red one, and a tree for a green one.
I'm sure you should know this by now but, a rainbow pixie speeds up even more than others, but since they're pretty rare, I would personally use it for other things instead.

Place pixie on tree, have tapper in your hand and press it on this tree, you will ask a Q about " are you sure wanna do this" and after that pixie will be inside tapper. But like Velvet say , it's a waste to use this very rare pixie for this ( especially if it's your first one)

Green pixie in a tapper will cut the time required for sap by 50%, Rainbow cuts it by 75%. HOWEVER, it loses the efficiency +1, so even if you do put a Rainbow Pixie in a tapper, you will still only get 1 sap at a time. as for how, once the pixie is attached to something, use the tapper like you would the pixie bottle, have it in your hand and press the Cancel button (default C) to put it in the tapper.

and maybe its just my luck with RNG in this game, but i dont know why everyone says they are so rare. yes they are not as common as normal pixies, but by beginning of year 2 i had around 20 of them.

81% for rainbow , not the 75% bcs 10 days become 1 day 21h. 240h \100 * 81% = 194,4h, 240- 194= 45,6h =1day 21 h
They rare for newbie , bcs ppl don't have enough money and resource to make 20% or 100% potion or buy 3k potion from Dawn. Also some ppl don't make 3-6 pixie shrine.

There's no need for that if you harvest a Pixiecap Mushroom with a green or rainbow pixie. 75% is enough odds to get pixies. But you do need some shrines available which can be hard to come by.

i have actually gotten 6 rainbows off of yellow honey. i think i have used 1x 20% potion and it didnt work.... and still waiting on a moonflower for the Tree dungeon cause i missed grabbing 2, so i havent sacrificed one to make a 100% potion yet.

You just need more quantity of shrines and good rate donations, and it will eventually show up. I got 6 shrines just on my farm.

It doesn't seem to matter if I put a pixie on a tree first, followed by a tapper, or the tapper on first followed by a pixie - the pixie always just mines wood and doesn't speed up the tapper as far as I can tell. Am I doing something wrong?

I believe you can only bond a pixie to the blonde tapper. TBH, I tried this during year 1 and couldn't get it to work either. I gave up and just built more blonde tappers...same effect really.

You have to put them in the tapper, which is permanent by the way, so choose wisely which pixies you want to do that.
To put them in the tapper, you gotta use the "Cancel" button while targetting where the pixie is at, while holding the tapper.
