i dont get giant lotus strat...pls explain ^^

so i throw in lotus pods into the ocean 3x3.
so far so good, it grows into a lotuspad with a lotusbud eventually, and then i have different kinds of lotusflowers on top, so i used my fishing rod to get rid of the wrong colors, i had 3/9 blue, and i got rid of the other lotusflowers with my fishing rod. then i had 6/9 lotuspads left, and my assumptions was the lotuspad will get another lotusbud regrowing and then another color might appear after a few days...
do the lotusbuds not respawn on just lotuspads? do i have to fish out the lotuspad and retry with throwing a lotuspod in again?
and if so, why did my 3 blue lotusflowers despawn ? the lotuspads stayed, and lotuspods grew on them, but my 3 lotusflowers disappeared, im so confused.

You have to fish out the wrong pad too, because the pad determines the color the flower is going to be. Get rid if it completely. Then throw a pod in the empty spots to "grow" a totally new plant and pray it's the correct color.

Your 3 that disappeared is going through the growth cycle again (I think).

If your main colors show and the wrong ones are empty or in a flower bud state, leave the flower bud and lily pad alone. You will have to wait at that state if the flower bud/empty lily pad matched the main colors when you wake up the next day with a giant lotus or mismatched colors again. If they have lily pods on top instead of flowers or flower buds, remove all the lily pods and leave the lily pads underneath them behind.

Once you get into the chore of doing this every other morning, it’ll come naturally and it’ll be a waiting game.

Every time you remove a color with the lily pad with it, you are resetting that color. The ones you want you only remove the lotus flower not the lily pad so you can reset it to its next bloom cycle.

I got lucky and got two giant lotus in one night and it’s taken me over 3 ingame years! I have horrible RNG, but looks like my patience is paying off. I only want them for museum hand-ins.

Buy the necklace at Freya’s shop counter called lotus luminescent, it will guarantee a lily pad the next day.

Here’s my lucky 2 giant lotus showing up one after the other in one night. I hope I don’t have to wait another 3 years for the other 2…..

I also suggest using a stone sign if you making multiple giant lotus for museum hand-ins, this way you won’t forget what set of 3x3 is the color you want.
