Loophole to get tons of money on the cooking mini-game
I can't keep this to myself not only because I keep seeing people wondering how to make money at the begining of the game so maybe this will help a few of you, but especially because I feel like I'm cheating even though I'm not ^^' so if Husky you see this and you fix it, I won't be mad lol, I'm too honest for my own good ;p

So I've only been playing for less than a week and my character became a millionnaire in one day thanks to the serving food event (and I do see the irony in the fact that this mini game is one of the things that people complain the most about haha).

I'd like to point out that I do like the cooking game personally even though it can be straight up impossible to beat if the recipes are too long/complex and so take too much time. I don't feel like I have to get the best items right away on the first in-game year, I want to play this game for more than a couple of weeks, and finishing the plot and getting all the things too quickly would defeat the purpose of playing a chill game at a nice lil pace. But, that's just me maybe ^^
On the other hand, I really really dislike farming xD I don't play these type of game where agriculture is the main focus, but I LOVE crafting, decorating, pets, personalizing characters/furnitures etc, the social life of NPCs, narrative and exploration games (JRPGs basically). So if I can find an other way to make money than spending my time pulling up potatoes one at the time from the ground, I'm happier. I do know and intent to build up on the fact that drones can help automatising the whole process, but it takes a looong time to get to that point...

Now the loophole. It's based on two things:
- the fact that after the mini-game ends, THE DOORS ARE STILL OPENED YOU CAN GO BACK IN THE KITCHEN
- as long as you have AT LEAST ONE SPACE LEFT IN YOUR INVENTORY you can stock up on any items, because it tells you you need both your hands to carry the ingredients (as the game wants to make it a bit harder and not be able to carry two ingredients at once right), but if the active box on your inventory main bar is empty and you try to grab an item you already have in an other box, rather than going in the active box, the items will pile up in the same box like they do normally.

And so, as you can see if you click on the picture above, you can easily recreate all the recipes you had to do for the day's game if you like to keep at least one item of everything. You can stock up on all those ingredients as long as the day doesn't end (so keep an eye on the time, it stops during the game, but of course it flows normally when the game ends), and my advice is - after you made a bit of stock of the other ingredients especially the rare/difficult to farm ones, for future missions/quests - look which one would sell for the most gold and SPEND THE REST OF THE DAY SPAMMING the action button. Non-potion items can be stocked to 999 per box.

Free infinite ressources to sell, the only limitations being the day time and the space in your inventory.

When I found this loophole, I did the game late in the day and I didn't actually really right away the potential, then I thought maybe the doors staying open was a one time glitch. So I did made a bit of money with potatoes but it was like 15k or something (got my pickaxe and sword upgrades easy thanks to this though).
Second try, I went right after waking up, but made some cooking experimentations as I still wasn't sure this would actually work a second time nor to what point. Sold lots of tofu and got 300k: https://i.imgur.com/SYtjZ1N.jpeg
Third try I was better prepared (practically emptied my inventory, start after waking up etc), AND got lucky to get a rare fruit (1 sells for 860g) and won more than a million: https://i.imgur.com/SnKRrWN.jpeg
I'm not that yound and healthy, so my hands get tired/in pain quickly, so someone younger probably would get more.

Okay here you go, enjoy your quick easy new wealth for those who try... for the time this will still work 😁

Thanks for sharing! I'm like you, I like everything but the farming in these types of games lol. The farming is just too tedious. I'm gonna try this out because I wanna buy all the cute furniture for my house.

You are very welcome :happy_yeti: And right? I play these games for the chill, colorful, wholesomeness, not the labor haha. I do like gardening/landscaping, like in some Pokémon games, on Animal crossing, etc and my max tolerence is like in Summer in Mara, or when it can be helped by robots/machines/npcs (and here I just today got my first gatherer drone), AND when it's not the main thing which is why I love the "My Time at" games but don't play Stardew Valley.

Now I've been saving up mats while mining and fighting a bit in the dungeon and increasing my fairies workforce, and can't wait to begin having fun upgrading the house and decorating... gotta visit the shops more often and make some ink ^_^

People be playing Farming Sims but don't like the farming aspect. Absolutely mind blown right now.
Anyway, cheating your way to resources in a chill and cozy game? Really? Are y'all this meta gamers?
Whatever, play the way you want. If it makes a worse experience or not, it's on you.

That's the thing, I don't want to play farming sims! I want to play RPGs with sandbox and social elements. Unfortunately a lot of them have too much farming on them, and I DO NOT play those games. I play the ones like this one, that have more focus on crafting and mining and community development.
Anyway yeah, to each their own.

Also, again, not cheating and I'm posting this like I said on purpose so that the dev could fix it if he wants, so your comment is just weird.

We're going to need to put security guards watching the kitchen now huh?

Haha just a little "when cooking event ends doors close" in the code (wouldn't it just be a lil boolean addition?) would suffice, but kitchen bodigards would be funny 😋

I love the My Time series for not focusing on farming too haha. Glad you're having fun with this game. I can't wait to get my farm fully automated eventually lol. :D

For me the doors are not open and never have been on all the games I have played. You just don't get access to the kitchen outside of the mini game. During the mini game you do not have access to your inventory. When the challenge is over you are booted out. Sure you can go up the stairs and look at the kitchen, but the door is and has always been closed. So really not sure what game cheat you are using but it is not the game I am playing.

This appears to have been fixed, been back to Hersha's kitchen after the *annoying* event and the doors are closed.

It's a known exploit that comes up when you google how to make money in everafter falls - and probably a pretty prevalent one given how many people were real quick with the tax me achievement.

When I started playing on Switch about a week ago, you could go into the kitchen if you went back upstairs after the minigame - but when I realized I wanted to play it on pc instead and bought it here like the next day, there were little blue doors that keep you out. Didn't bother me at all since I do my first runs of any game unmodded and without touching exploits, but it was to an extent definitely a thing for a while.

Thank You miri, so it was a switch thing, not mention in original post. I know on PC you could never get into the kitchen after the session. Yes you could see all the ingredients, but as you say those little blue doors, blocked you. I remember trying very early on. Still I made my million the honest way.
