How to make money?
I've been playing for about 12 hours, including my demo play time, and feel like I still don't have much money to buy anything. So what's the best way to make money?

I haven't been planting much because I don't like watering a lot of crops. Are crops the best way to make money?
I don't have any animals because I find them annoying to look after in these types of games. Should I get some?
Progress feels slow...

Yeah, progress is a bit slow. The game just expects you to learn as you play.
To be honest, I just planted a bunch of Strawberries when I started playing because 25 cost and 110 selling point sounded pretty good.

First of all, get a chicken egg and make an incubator. You don't have to do anything with the animals. They're very easy. Just open the little coop hatch and let it out. It does fine on its own. You will get one egg a day unless you feed it its favorite food. If you do, you get an extra egg or sometimes a golden egg worth 300. Regular eggs are worth thirty.

I specifically grow the foods my chickens like best so I have plenty.
If it wants something weird and hard to get you can sell it and try again.

Thank you! That's good to know you don't need to do anything for the animals. I had a feeling that might be the case because I didn't notice any food we could buy for them at the animal store. I will definitely get a chicken.

Thank you! I will try planting a bunch of strawberries too then.

What’s the best way to get seeds? Do you need to buy them?

Freya's Store has seeds and some trees saplings.

If you take those eggs and make mayo out of them it's a money making game changer. For me anyway.

You have to buy food seeds. For tree seeds, try cutting down grass around town.

I think it's 60 for two chicken eggs but 120 for a mayo so you're doubling your money right there. I tried putting two golden eggs in the churn but alas, no golden mayo.

Here's what I'm making most of my money on after getting a lot of bees and animals: Giant pink honey is number one, purple truffles number two, golden goose eggs and chicken eggs, the other truffles, regular pink honey, regular yellow honey and tree syrups I can spare like maple, then maybe cheese. Add board quests. I don't do the quests unless it's worth it to me.

Thank you! How do you get pink bees for the pink honey? I've never seen on. I'm in Autumn year 1.

They are random bugs that sometimes appear, but you can help them along by shaking trees. You'll get normal bees and other critters as well, and the normal bees can be used for honey for a lil bit of extra money while you wait on the pink honey :)

You noted that you don't want to grow lots of crops because you don't like watering them. One of the cool things about this game is you can make a drone to water your crops for you, and another one to gather and sell them, so you don't actually ever need to water them :)

You need a artificial sunflower from puff reward. He can give you a pink bee every 3 days too(not always if i'm remember correct)

Some of my tips:
- Unless you're absolutely desperate for bricks, sell all shells (unless you need to donate them) with the exception of black/white/peach/blue pipi and large/small sand dollars. Hold on to black pipi and the sand dollars for crafting, craft the other pipi into cheap bricks.

- Buying cooking machines from Hersha's cafe is always a great idea, though some recipes have better profit than others (such as tomato and pumpkin pizza)

- Incubating eggs even if your coops are full, they profit when sold as babies for 99 and it gives you opportunities to get either a coop full of the same favourite ingredient birds (making it easier to churn out extra ingredients) or hatching ones that like easier ingredients.
NEVER buy geese or chickens from Daisy unless she's selling them at that rare instance of 100g.
I recommend leaving some space in a spare coop so that you can raise extra chicks/geese so that you don't lose profit from less eggs while swapping out an adult for a baby in your main coops.

- Spudges are expensive and rare to come by in Daisy's store, but boy can they churn out some decent cash - particularly if you have one with a favourite item that's easy to come by... They sometimes spawn a purple truffle, which sells at an incredible 3300, but most of the time they spawn black truffles which sell at 130 at least once per day.

- DON'T sell butter, it's 30g loss per unit.

(Squarehusky has said about rebalancing sales prices, so take this with the current version)
