Shipping bin?

Where is the shipping bin?! I have the farm layout with the beach in the middle and see a mailbox, but no shipping bin. My inventory os completely full, items do not just drop when I hold "x" on the gamepad, and there is no option to sell in the store. How do you get more storage? Where do I sell things? The lack of inventory in the backpack might be a dealbreaker for continuing the game.
