This. So much this.
And 400 players is maybe enouth to find games . . . but it will be against elite players only. It's ALREADY too late for newbie to get in. Myself included, I finished both SF3 and SH (in Circle Mage, if it has any sense for the pvp), but I have no patience to get rekt multiple times without learning much (when you got rekt, you learn basically nothing) on the PvP.
The way they handled the extensions is insanly bad, it has spread the community like jam AND lowered the games visibility. The F2P pvp add on is also a dumb idea : it incentive frustrated morons to smurf, kicking the newbies even hardder.
And it's already too late to fix it.
edit : 400 players ? Lol, 81 24-h peak according to steam charts, their is NO WAY this f2p pvp add on will ever live. It's a stillborn.
Always according to steam chart : Spellforce 3 still has by far the most players on it, Fallen God has barely more players than Soul Harvest (around 150 24-h peak . . .), proving my point : IT SHOULD all have been the same game.
Being that I can't even join online matches anymore, I'm jealous of you being able to even get into a match to get rekt, let alone multiple matches. I can't even find a single match ever, and if it miraculously does, it now fails to connect with about a 95% prevalence.
Custom games will no longer allow joining either, failing with an error 100% prevalence.
I want to get rekt multiple times. :(
100% too late to fix it.
But hey, chances are now we get to look forward to a nice big re-branding event! One where they attempt to somehow reconcile all the mounting problems from the past entire multiple years in one fell, magical, panacean swoop.
The "new" game will be claim to a "new fresh experience" by adding a hastily photoshopped "Spellforce 3: Revitalized" tagline of some sort into the title and logo, and the publisher pays for a front page THQ-sale/Steam feature to cash cow out all the DLC's and campaigns on heavy discount that /we/ all much over-paid full price for. Only to be refunded or forgotten the moment everyone realizes the same issues are still very much present, if not joined by more new issues from doing a massive and sudden software change-up.
Once again, I really, REALLY hope I am 100% wrong in this prediction, but. . .I have seen this all before. . .a lot. . . .not just once. . .not twice. . .not even just 15 times. . .it is going to happen lol.
The players who are into MP will find it a bit lacking compared to other RTS tiles, and those who wanted to enjoy the story only would wish if a lot of the effort that had gone into MP had been diverted into the latter part.
I certainly enjoyed playing the story, but I wish if it were longer, and it had more complex customizations.
