Went straight into normal mode.
I more or less started with a few items until I could afford the tv/pc.
Seem to be doing ok with that, got 2500 now and thinking about buying more shop furniture.
I am not sure about the farm, but from what I understand when bought you collect a daily profit direct from there.
Just sell things quicker, by allowing two customers at the same time.
I got a tv and sitting on the shelf for days... I dont think it has buyers.
AppData\Local\TraderLifeSimulator\Saved\SaveGames on my system SAV1.sav dont mess with other files in that directory..hope this helps too me forever to figure out but works
Don't worry about the ratings when you start or what people want. I do find that there are certain products that sell more even when they aren't asking for them :) Pop, chips, milk, and chocolate seem to be good sellers. There are others but I haven't got to a point of being able to analyze the data quite yet.
I don't believe it's a 100% random because I remember on easy mode how the high item stuff did not sell as fast including the meat. Other products as mentioned seem to always sell faster than others.
There is also the roll up door at the back of your store....if you have not opened that door yet, there is a couple boxes of merchandise in there as well as a ladder so you can stack food on top of your fridge and the top shelf of your shelves.
I keep the chip display full...that requires four to five boxes to fill up completely. Soda I keep on hand in the fridge. Chocolate milk and milk are more expensive, but I try to keep that stocked all the time. Same with TP and diapers, the dressing, ketchup, and sauce. Sun block, toothpaste, detergent, softener, bleach, hand soap, cleaners, canned goods, cooking and frying oil, eggs, coffee, teas, cashews, nuts, spaghetti, noodles...all the items that I try to keep stocked and on hand for restocking.
Ice cream and sea food, meats are harder to keep stocked. Same with the more expensive sweets. I have not bothered yet with fresh produce. I am guessing that will be cheaper with the farm??? No one has come to my shop looking for sugar, salt, or whatever else is in the smaller containers, so that's nice.
In the bank, I keep $300 on my visa for two electric bills to go through automatically and $200 in my bank for the loan and employee pay. Once my loan is paid off, I may get another one, have not decided yet...
I hardly sleep, but maintain food, and bathroom needs. I wait until I am 100 on my hunger and buy a pizza. It is the most economical way to go, it will fill you up completely. Sleep deprivation is not a thing in the game yet, but what sleeping does, it gets you through the night if you are not having to purchase merchandise and restock shelves.
I am now trying to balance vehicle maintenance. I do not have a cellphone yet, so I get my oil and gas myself. As far as vehicle repairs...I have not yet figured that out yet. I am guessing that is where I will need a cellphone, but I do not know where to buy it.
BTW, you can stack boxes from the merchant on the hood of your car. I have done that when I have a lot I want to get in one trip. Be sure to not completely block your window, though, so you can navigate. Can't wait to get the truck or have food delivered... That will be so nice!
Pop is not refrigerated and I usually keep it stocked up front under the counter. Same with donuts (that are sold in a refrigerator). I usually stick with 150 in the CC and 50 in the bank and just make sure I go to the bank each day. If you have to pay your employee and forget you just get a credit on your account which doesn't cost any overdraft fees or anything.
Right now I'm still early on with a fridge a couple of tables, and the original stock rack. Revenue has just reached about the 800 per day mark. This came around the same time that I needed repairs on the vehicle.
I learned the trick here early on about getting the repairs and oil done at the same time because it cost you nothing extra.
Another cool trick I found out last night. I already knew the stock latter could easily go 3 wide and 2 deep with a height of at least 3 high for 18 of the big boxes. Well what is really cool is by accident I decided to run it into the back of the station wagon. Leave it then pick it up and sure enough it unloaded the entire vehicle with everything on top of the station wagon. This is a huge time saver.
1) Do not buy shelves (in the beginning)
2) Sell everything in your inventory (keep only the laptop, and toilet)
3) Buy only a bathtub, and as much groceries as you can, leaving only like $100 for food to
eat.
4) Do not take a loan
5) Do not pay the electric bill (only when you buy fridge do you need to consider it, and then
check to see if fridge needs power (currently it does not)).
6) Do not buy the second cashier. It only sells things faster (which some may like), but you
cannot dismiss him, so you are stuck with him forever.
7) before buying any frozen items, be sure to have all the "machines" outside first. This way,
if you need money, just let the game run in AFK. Everything will be sold, you will be sick,
but you will have alot more money.
8) You don't die in the game, don't be afraid of getting sick. You just loose your ability to
run. If the noises bother you...mute.
why do need shelves at all in the begining? I see a TON of floor space. can you not sell them if the items are on the floor? I just dont know because I do not have the game
