There's an anime that likely inspired this game, called "Hell Girl".
Hellgirl
Each episode typically follows the format of a self-contained short story where a person has been suffering torment from an acquaintance to the point that he or she accesses the Hell Correspondence website, a mysterious website that only shows up at midnight, and submits a request to get rid of the person. Ai Enma, the Hell Girl, appears, and presents a doll with a red string on its neck that can send the named antagonist to Hell. When the string is pulled, Ai and her companions then torment the antagonist, offering a last chance to repent (which is usually refused), and ferries them to Hell. The price of the contract is that the person making the request will also have to go to Hell after his or her life is over.

This game, Corpse Factory, has a protagonist that looks almost exactly like Ai Enma, aka "Hellgirl", who is the one who does the dirty work in every episode. I'm not certain if it's an underlooked anime, I just know of it because an ex of mine introduced me to it. There was too much triggering content in it for me to keep watching, but I know enough to guess that anime inspired this game.

Why mention it at all? Eh, some people might like to watch the anime if they liked this game. Also, I like trivia and giving credit/original source material their proper mentions when something like this comes up.

Like, how Steven U. ripped off the Jumi from Legend of Mana.

I saw that one,its a good thing that someone mention it,great anime, even better when you see it during the night, get some good vibe. But Still,I belive it will be great to have the story of Corpse Factory having a anime adaption.Honestly I still did not finish the game,I only play it during the night in the dark cuzz I realy love the feeling im having during that moment, but while playing it,I feel like am in the universe of Death Note, but not with Light Yagami but rather with Noriko Kurosawa.Anyway love the game so far!!

I'm sure that was the inspiration behind this. The difference being largely that Hell Girl isn't a psychopath.

Literally the only connection between the two is you go on a website to request a death. And the websites don't even function the same way.

Hell Girl is a supernatural show based on Japanese folklore and horror tropes.
