You can get used to bad game design and "git gud", but that doesn't change the fact that it's bad game design. You can flex all day about this if you want, but I'm not impressed with that bragging rights elitist attitude. You wasted your time and mastered something that I found to be absolutely terrible and not worth my time. What do you want, a medal?
It's the same reason I didn't bother getting all the achievements/trophies in Demon's Souls/Dark Souls III. Oh good, I have to get ALL the sorceries, miracles, rings, and special weapons that I'm never going to use in a million years? Wow what an achievement! *mimes jerking off motion*
And pointing out I can just play the base game goes without saying. Yeah, of course I will. And I have, numerous times, both the original and the remaster. In fact, I reinstalled the original game to replay it to further appreciate it AND the good things they did in the Remaster even more. And I will replay both versions many more times.
EDIT: And as for locking a secret weapon behind the most obnoxious challenge possible: I agree that it only adds fuel to the fire. I'm never going to waste my time with that either.
But they could of at least put the goal in normal or add a death counter so we know we didn't waste our time the whole time due to uh, well I mean its hard not to know when you died cause it pisses you off. But dozens of hours of frustrating crap can cause a mental lapse.
Someone really needs to make a horror guide on mikes apartment and the gun. This is a really cruel and unusual thing to put in a game especially for people who loved shadowman since N64.
Also shadowman is one of the greatest horror games ever made and it just feels like they are trying to turn it even more niche and obscure. How can I recommend this to gamers who wanna have fun, and enjoy atmosphere when there's undead chicks boomeranging blue spam literally everywhere?
I understand hard added goals and increasing replay but this is ridiculous. And forgotten I understand how you feel, sometimes having a challenge can increase satisfaction and adrenaline. Recently got into a shooter called dismantled on steam and its very tough. I liked it so much I bought the directors cut after the original. But it still seemed like a hard game. But I don't try to complete or win anything hard for any reason but my own enjoyment. Not to say I'm a pro or brag to random people online I don't know but only for my own sake.
Gaming accomplishes nothing its entertainment, work and a career do. But as far as entertainment goes I don't like americas bloodsport culture, or going to watch guys almost die driving around a circle. I don't like going to bars and clubs and trying to creep out women or piss off some bar king. I just wanna relax and play a fun game.
I don't want ND to change it, its already been done now changing it would be contradictory. But they could add the goal to normal for uh, normal players. And add a deathcount, but I doubt they will update this again. Sad cause they need to, the name nightdive, nothing represents this name better than shadowman imo.
The bloody bear can also be earned on any difficulty.
When the secret was first discovered the whole community came together in a thread to find all of the bears together. It was a lot of fun to experience this.
Make sure to read the guide carefully. Some locations got changed as updates rolled out.

*EDIT*
Even better. Looks like someone made a full comprehensive guide video.

Also does throwing the bears consume the bears? And if you collect them all but use them if they are consumable, does it still count towards mikes apartment?
Zuko I would appreciate it if you stayed subscribed to this thread so you could give me some information I don't need hand holding I just need to know the general rules of what I can and can't do.
The church one only works at night. Day and night versions of maps are actually separate maps. So don't worry about that one just yet.
Collecting all of the bears gives you one bear weapon. It is not consumed on use and doesn't require ammo or voodoo. You can spam it all you want.
There is also nothing stopping you from saving in these areas. It won't mess up the load zone or anything. So if you get a tricky jump done you can save so that you don't have to redo it if you mess up somewhere else.
It probably would be possible to avoid some of the stronger enemies like jack, legion, seraph, and others until you got enough souls and upgrades. Also can we use the bloody teddy on the new game plus? If I use 500 cad I'm going to have to replay again to get 666.

And yes. You keep everything except for key items in new game plus. You keep the teddy bear, you keep the light soul, you keep the revolver, and you keep your voodoo weapons. You only lose key items like any accumulators you didn't use.
Also! You can get all of the bloody bears in the game without ever fighting a boss, all except one. The bloody bear for the engine block level is in Jack's part of the engine block. So you do have to kill Jack the Ripper for one of the bears.
The other bears however you can just go to their level, get the bear and leave. The bears absolutely shred the ♥♥♥♥ out of the bosses and are a huge help.
I had a shotgun in one hand and the bear in the other and I got right up in her face and started spamming.
For the helicopters I personally stayed behind cover in places like behind the stairs. If you are out of it's view with enough cover for long enough the helicopter will start to move around. You can take some potshots on it while it's turned around and then go right back into cover when it starts to turn towards you again.
There is a downside. The arc can be awkward. Like if a ceiling is too low it'll hit the ceiling. You can keep spamming the ceiling to make the chunks rain down, which still do a lot of damage. If you want to do a direct hit in this situation though you basically have to run right up to enemies and basically use it like a melee weapon.
It is so satisfying though to spam the bear at a crowd of chainsaws and hookemen and watch all of the bloody chunks fly everywhere.
