The sys min requirements are "Intel or AMD Dual-Core at 2.0 GHz". The Intel C2D E6750 doesn't support SSE 4.2, but is above min system requirements!
We still get a Vulkan error, because our card doesn't support Vulkan. Only v.1.31 works without issues.
If you cannot open the game and get to that, then navigate to the Nightdive folder on your PC, and open the config file, and you can change the settings in there.
The Seraph Queen fight was fun. She is quite tricky at first due to how she disappears, but overall I enjoyed this fight. I like it more than the Yort battle cause Yort is so big and if you aren't constantly circle-strafing, his tail attack will knock you into the lava.
I also love how the Seraph Queen little arena room looks now. A great improvement with the Asylum looming to the north. It actually looks like it came from the original game now.
Does the new voodoo item do more damage by the more dark souls you collect? It seems very powerful. I used it on a save file at Shadow Level 9 and was running around killing Asylum enemies with just a few shots. It don't eat up the voodoo/magic meter either, making it more reliable than the early weapons. (I understand this is a Beta and this will likely be changed, since it seems a bit overpowered).
Lighting fixes are a nice welcome and I love the new effect when jumping into the blood.
Now onto the hard mode 'The Horror' - I like the idea in theory, but it seems incredibly unbalanced. The enemies have been made too fast, and thus lose a bit of the balance. Dupies and Deadwings will just spam their spit attack at you. In large groups, that equals death. By changing the speed of their projectiles, the balance is lost. Haven't reached the Asylum yet, but can imagine the speed of Surgeon projectiles being fast enough to be like Max Payne enemies. I do like the enemy re-arrangements though for a greater challenge.
Thank you for the updates. It was a welcoming surprise and happy to know more work is being put into this classic game!
I did find this cute reversed note in the prison level.
