Last I heard they might be looking into optional aiming methods (there is a FPS secret mode BTW, that works like the manual aim mode + WASD movement, I kind of wish for an optional one like that but just in third person)
Swimming is controlled by mouse (and forward as you discovered), or on controller I assume whatever stick moves your camera, so just move the mouse/stick upwards to swim upwards (assuming no inverted control scheme), you don't need to "spin" the stick, just move it up.
Unless I'm understanding your specific problem wrong? At least on mouse & KB I don't need to do any fancy aim spinning to move upwards in water :s
I was playing with a PS4 controller and on the classic control scheme.
The new controls swimming is fine, but I didnt really like using them in game as it made jumps a bit tricky if you are holding the stick slightly wrong shadowman will dive in the wrong direction.
So I switched to classic, and in classic you only have the one stick. Making forward BOTH move forward and go down at the same time. It doesn't make the game unplayable by any means, I managed to get past all the underwater fans and stuff. Its just super annoying.
Also the first person on a controller is basically unusable. from what I can tell you cant invert it (which i know is a preference) but it also moves too fast. TO BE FAIR, i didnt try adjusting the setting for sensitivity, because I was worried it would effect both sticks
Thank you! I have the same problem, it took me hours of game to finally understand that I needed to use the mouse to swim up and down, which is frankly not easy for me. In the old scheme in the original game, you used center space for swim and up and down Arrows to move!
I still wish those were options ingame though, as it would make the game that much more viable on other platforms. And the target lock, if anything, please bring the target lock back. It's lack makes the combat much more of chore than it used to be.
