SMT III PS2 team and fuse
Hi!!

I am lvl 16 at Ginza. I really don't know what I am doing. I am keeping with High Pixie, Ha Pou and Shikigami, and fusing randomly demons... Any idea which Demons to fuse or get?

This game its overwhelming about fuse and so many Demons.

Thank you so much!

You generally wanna fuse demons that are resistant to the boss that gives you the most trouble, The important part is making sure that you maintain the important skills when you fuse.
So when you get a solid demon that you like; with the perfect set of skills; register it to the monsterdex so that you can always re-summon it (for whatever reason you'd like) and just continue adding random monsters.
Either you can find a monster that you like through special fuse, or continue randomly playing (Which is most fun imo)
Depending on which difficulty you're playing- the bosses can be brutal, and will take complete advantage of adding extra turns + just obliterating your team.
So like, if the boss uses wind- get wind resistance monsters with buff/debuff skills
Boss somehow having 30+ turns- lower his accuracy or wipe his personal buffs away

Monsterdex? What os that? I am on Ginza leveling up and I have a lot of good buffs and debuffs, but the Demons are Hau Po, Shikigami and High Pixie, so they began to get outclassed...

It's actually called a "Demonic Compendium" (I'm bad at names)
Basically, it's a pokedex- but you can re-summon monsters you once had; so Registering your already leveled monsters to the Demonic Compendium, allows you to resummon said monster; with all the skills that you slapped on em'.
So, basically~ ya just fuse everything you can; and if you liked a certain monster; you can always just re-summon it with macca.
Like I'd personally try and fuse hau po + shikigami with a random demon, so that you get something with more health.
High pixie is still viable at ginza, so I personally wouldn't fuse her.

I finally fused Hau Po with a Brute with spear to get Pyro Jack with Rakukaja and void-force. But the problem is that you can only take 7 demons and they cost macca from compendium, and the list of monster doesn't show you the possible fusions from the demon you choose, making fusing very expensive and inefficient

For the entire first part of the game~ you'll be hurting for macca; and having to farm one spot like crazy, but it'll balance out
And yeah, the graph style summoning system is sort of a pain to mess with, but you can still see what they fuse into, it just takes a bunch of backing out of menus~
Like, basically you just wanna fuse everything you haven't gotten before- eventually you'll come to a great combination. (Angel is one I'll catch, train + fuse over and over and over again because she always has good skills to inherit)
I've been playing this game off and on for sooo many years- and the summoning system is still too complicated for me to *actually* understand; i'm still just goofin' off n wingin' it lol
But yeah, a pyro jack Is good fuse; and you now have another spot open for a demon you haven't caught- Basically you wanna have 3 mains atm and the rest of em is skill/summon fodder
When it comes to registering the demons to compendium- you only wanna use it if like, the monster has some REALLY good skills. Because then, you can go off and take one demon with awesome skills; and fuse it with the other demon in the demondex with awesome skills- then you have that one demon with the best of both skills (With the added bonus of being able to re-summon them over and over; pros utilize this to break the game)
How the skill system works, is, it's RNG~ (Outside of main skills) so theoretically, no two pyro jacks will be the same. (You can test it out by saving the game before a demon levels up, and reloading it; if you don't like the skill it inherited. Just don't min/max or else the game will be a loading screen simulator lol)
Oh yeah, The concept of fusing isn't *just* to get a different demon tho; They'll also inherit stats too.
So like, if you've managed to find a higher tier demon- it's stats will always be better than~ lets say a hau po's.
And if you were to fuse 2 mage classes together- it's magic stat will be much higher, than lets say~ fusing a melee demon + a mage demon (Some combinations will give you the same exact fused monster but with diff stats)

I'd recommend
Inugami (from Apsaras x Kodama or Shikigami x Datsue-Ba, pass Tarukaja if Shiki is level 8+) Shiisaa (from Apsaras x any fairy)
Choronzon (Preta x Aeros or Datsue-Ba x Will o Wisp; you can recruit Fouls and Haunts at Full o clock, try saving the game in Shinjuku Medical Center at rising 6/8)
Uzume (using High Pixie with Shiisaa or Angel, pass Trafuri)
Nozuchi (you can recruit one in Underpass or make one using Apsaras x Will o wisp, offer a fat sacrifice trust me)

If you want to save a load of time grinding for Macca and experience points, the DLC titled 'Mercy and Expectation Map Pack' will help. This adds 2 maps that can be access via the Amala Link.

Location Name = Center of the Conception
- This is where you grind for macca.
- Locations is full of monsters that drop Bull statues.
- The statues can be sold for a good amount of money at a vendor.
- You don't even need to leave the screen area you load in to.
- If you stay here fighting for one or two full phases of the Kagutsuchi you'll be able to sell the accumulated statues from anywhere between 300,000 to 400,000 macca.
- It's even better if you cast Riberama because it increases the number of encounters.

Location Name = Where the Demi-Fiend was Born
- This is where you grind for experience points
- Location name is full of monsters that drop items to use for exp gains.
- Items are called 'Grimoire' and they come in 2 forms.
- Grimoire (Thin) is an item that can be used from on a party member to reduce the amount of exp required to reach their next level. If you use around 5 on a character, it won't let you use them anymore because it means they will definitely level up after the next battle.
- Grimoire (Thick) is similar but it only needs to be used once on a character in the party and they will be guaranteed to level up after the next battle.

Some people hate the idea of fast tracking the grind by using such methods but it's an official dlc on the Steam store so I'm not sure what's up with that because it doesn't affect them if they choose not to use it.

Fusing and Full Kagutsuchi
- You may already know this but if you enter the Cathedral of Shadows during a full Kagutsuchi, you'll be able to sacrifice a 3rd demon. You don't need to but you'll be given the option.

Elements and Mitami
- Fusing 2 of the same race creates and Element race i.e. Fairy + Fariy = Aeroes
- Fusing 2 different elements creates a Mitami i.e. Aeros and Flaemis = Ari Mitami.
- Mitami are shaped like tear drops.
- Mitami are perfect for sacrificing once you have set them up how you want.

Upgrading with Mitami
- If you fuse a demon with a Mitami, the demon won't change to another race.
- Instead the Demon's stats will increase.
- Using Mitami to upgrade demon stats becomes a lot easier once you have a lot of macca and can re-buy them in the Demon Compendium within the Cathedral of Shadows.

Fusing with Deathstones
- Once you really get into fusing, I'd do a search online on how deathstones are used in this game. You can make some very powerful demons with excellent resistances.
- You'll obtain deathstones as you progress the game.
