So who is this Raidou guy

I see a lot of text about him and warning about "new game" but still not get it. This is is my first time playing.
So, he is an actual characater in the game's story, right? An integral part of the story or a "third element"?
You can see him as a character in the story if you chose to play "new game"?
Or he is cuted out...? And you need play "NG: chronicles" to have him in story?

Im totally confused because I see people saying nornal NG don't have him or smth. But how is it prossible if he is an actual character in the story and part of it? Like fully cuted out, no scenes, no words?

Or he stay in story, but you just can't party with him (is there even an option to party with non-demons at all?)

Raidou is a character from previous spin off smt games. Some countries have Dante from DMC as character instead. Afaik since he has a japanese uniform it causes controversy in some countries that's why the character isn't in every version.
Smt 3 isnt that story heavy. Dante and raidou are recruitable and not that story relevant.

I see, I did read about controversy. But the main question is: if I choose basic NG (nor with Raidou nor with Dante)
It's gona be "empty" here, just content cut?

I just played 12 hours straight already, and try to figure out is this necessary to stop and start from scratch before it's too late.
(I don't really need additional dungeon and stuff, I care only about base game itself)

No it's not answer my question actually, but now when you mentioned "lots of extra Demons" I don't care about Raidou anymore, I go speedrun NG Chronicles rigt now, thanks a lot!

Yes, Raidou guy IS cuted out in basic "New Game", I replayed and checked it personally. To have him in game story choose "New Game: Chronicles" (DLC).
