But most agree that the physical demi fiend is the best for a single reason: Pierce
Put a point in Agility every time you hit a level that's a multiple of 5 (5-10-15-20-25...).
Don't put anything in Luck if you can put a point somewhere else.
Otherwise focus on STR if you make a physical build, or MAG if you make a magic build. A magic build is OP in the beginning but begins to show its limits after level 30. A physical build will enable you to deal gigantic amounts of damage in the late game. Demi Fiend has access to exclusive physical skills that are the strongest in the game.
Once you learn Focus keep it all game. Same for War Cry and Fog Breath. You can replace them later, but only if you have a very good reason.

Personally for Phys demi fiend, 2 points of strength, 1 agility, 1 vitality was what I did. Stop at 30 though, due to the "Masakados" Magatama if you plan to collect every single one. +10 All Stats but luck but luck doesn't do anything anyway so you're fine.
it's 25 i got it today, it's worse against white rider
yeah, luck is the only one i haven't been increasing, only through the occasional luck incense
