All these people jumping on your post to clown on you, but yeah no autosaves is kind of weird.
Im sorry but this is such a modern gamer thing to complain about, you can literally save whenever you want too.

PC Gamer in the 90s: I have downloaded 37 rar in 2 days with my 56k modem, keeping busy the home phone in the process, but when I tried unpacking the game using a password I have obtained by sacrificing a baby goat to the batphomet I have a CRC error so have to download it again

PC Gamer in 2024: I have to press a button and man is it tiring

pretty much

Fallen Aces is awesome but all of yinz gotta realize that the lack of autosave is a valid criticism.

Yeah idk why people are clowning on me just because there isn’t an auto save feature. At least the developer confirmed it’s coming!

Because the feature exists. It will be improved. It's an early access, that's what it's made for.

And also because you can save whenever you want. It's said in every loading screen. And no, your computer doesn't load that fast, you just missed the info, it happens. It's also a common feature for FPS.

And, most importantly, your tone. Read your first message. You're condescending with the developers. You act like a spoiled child. You are unhappy with a feature: fine, express yourself, but you don't need to use this tone.

That's why people are clowning you.
All these people talking about quicksave missed the point of the OP. Yes we know we can hit quicksave! The point is that with most modern game, you don't have to save manually so hitting save midgame is not something people do anymore. Nowadays people saves only when they're about to quit the game, not during playing. So you have to understand the frustration of people like OP and myself and many others that forget to save in the middle of the level and die and whoops back to the start of the level 30 minutes ago.

They will actually admit that they forgot to save and then somehow blame the dev for giving them the option to save and they just forgot. How much hand holding does one need?

It's not "hand holding". Like I said above, the standard of modern games has improved a lot. Saving midgame especially when there's no relevant in-game mechanic to remind you to save is a thing of the past now. (For example, games like Resident Evil have save points in a form of typewriters. This reminds you to save whenever you encounter one in game. As oppose to Fallen Aces where there's no such things like that, you just press F6 and done, so it's very easy to forget to save the game while you're in the moment enjoying the game.

And I know this is supposed to be a throwback to the old games of the late 90s, but not everything that's old is good, and not everything that's modern is bad. Auto-saving is a great feature and it should be in every good games from now on.

I mean I agree. Auto saves at key moments would be good. Like each time Nightwave comes over the radio is a good auto save point.

That was my grandma, and in fact, she taught me a lot of valuable lessons because life can be so much harder than what I have.

There is autosave if you hit load it goes "AUTOSAVE" lol
I died like far into the map and it loaded me straight back to the start
skill issue
But even then so, the level is like short? so its not a big deal breaker lol.

it is but the game quite explicitly reminds u to save by yourself xd
tbh, playing a level with one life is quite fun for me personally although that would definitely be a quality of life addition
