Review of Demo

I had the opportunity to play this demo at MAGFest 2024, and I was immediately hooked on the "point-n-click" factor: you don't see a lot of these anymore. As for the game itself, it is OOZING with charm everyone. Good cartoony visuals, the writing/dialogue is funny, the music fits the ambiance of "1800s-early 1900s" England, and the puzzles were pretty interesting to figure out! The devs said that their biggest inspirations were the Monkey Island games, and I'm a fan of those games, so the inspiration def...

Bug fix for graphics settings

Hi players!

I just pushed a new version of the demo with a small but super important change. The demo was accidentally defaulting to the 'low' graphics settings which was only really meant to run on extremely old systems. ːsteamfacepalmː

It should now default to high, and we took out 'low' which had too many problems and wasn't enough of a performance improvement to justify the game looking that terrible and causing problems with puzzles.

Very good game incoming!

I saw the game in a VictorianEra subreddit yesterday and downloaded the demo. I like the graphics style, and especially writing. I only had about enough time to explore the areas so I can't say anything about the puzzles yet, but if they are as good as the Seance Book suggests, it will be great! Did I mention I love the writing? Very Monkey-Island-esque. I actually laughed out loud when the protagonist (Sorry I forgot her name) claimed the pitcher based on the fact that it wasn't nailed down!...

Stuck

I am stuck with the first two items in the seance book, and can't tell if I set up the gas pipes right. What are we trying to achieve with gas pipes - turn the lights off on the porch and in the seance room? I think I've tried all combinations and can't tell if there is any difference. What I have left in my inventory: pearls, scissors, matches. Since there is no walkthrough, I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction because I'm stuck....
